Show I 10 BOX JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, March 31, 1977 Duty to God ELDER award goes to BE youth fr iz Obituaries Max Kelly Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Nelson, was presented his Duty to God award Sunday evening by Bishop Lynn Reeder of the Perry First ward. Kelly is a senior at Box Elder High school where he is a member of the varsity baseball team. He has served as secretary, counselor and president of his deacons and teachers quorums and as assistant to the bishop in the priest quorum of the Perry First ward. He is at the present time serving as first assistant to the bishop and is president of the Aaronic Priesthood Activity Night. Kelly served as scribe, quartermaster, patrol leader and senior patrol leader in Boy Scout troop 110. He was a member of the Leadership corp and a member of the Order of the Arrow and in 1972 ""was named the top scout in .the stake. He was just rece'ntly presented his Eagle Scout badge. Darwin J. Anderson Darwin Jorgenson Anderson, Elwood, died Monday, March 28, 1977, at his home of a heart attack. He was born Sept., 21, 1910, in Bear River City, a son of Clarence and Martha Jorgenson Anderson. He married Rhea Nielsen on June 15, 1938, in Malad, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on 66, of Max Kelly Nelson . . . Duty to God Sept. 4, 1941. He was reared and educated in Bear River City and moved to Elwood in 1938. He was a past member of the Elwood Town board. He was an elder in the Elwood LDS ward and had served as a home teacher. He was a past member of the troop committee. Boy Scouts of America, and had been a member of the Elwood board building fund committee. He was a farmer and dairyman. Surviving are his widow of Elwood, one son and one daughter, David R. Anderson, Logan; Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Stimson, Roy; four grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters, Mrs. E. F. (Elva) Jackley, Sun City, Ariz.; Merlin Anderson, Brigham City; Blaine Anderson, Dwight Anderson, Mrs. Ila Anderson, all of Bear River City; Arlow Anderson, Elwood; Monte R. Anderson, Ogden. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 12 noon in the Elwood Ward chapel with Bishop A. C. Christensen officiating. Friends may call at Rogers mortuary in Tremonton from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Tremontons Riverview cemetery. Iner Martin Pedersen, 71, of Thatcher died Tuesday, March 29jJ9J7 at the McKay Dee h piiBWh Ogden of heart failure. He was born May 27, 1905 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Peder and Marianne Sorensen Pedersen. He married Sarah Saphronia Earl June 17, 1925 in the Logan temple. He was a dry cleaner and tailor. He had lived in Idaho Falls before coming to Thatcher in 1974. He was an honorary member Lions club of Idaho Falls and a member of the Sportsman club. He was a high priest in the Thatcher-Penrose ward, serving in the past as Sunday school of the teacher, in drama events, and fulfilling two stake missions. He was a member of the Idaho National Guard where he had been a lieutenant. Surviving are his widow of Thatcher; two sons, and two daughters, Ener Earl Pedersen of Las Vegas, Nev.; Peder D. Pedersen of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gordon (Jo) Lasley of Thatcher; Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Pape of Anchorage, Alaska; 20 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild. Also surviving is a brother and four sisters, Edwin Sorensen Pedersen and Mrs. Ray (Betty Lou) Rhoades, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Ellen Colsen, fulfilling an LDS mission to North Texas; Mrs. Noman (Maurine) Bates of Hawaii; Mrs. Grace Frost of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Thatcher-Penrose ward chapel. Bishop J. Dell Petersen will conduct. Funeral services will also be conducted in Idaho Falls Second ward. Burial in the Idaho Falls Fielding Memorial cemetery. Fred Weiser Fred Weiser, Tremonton, at Bear River Valley hospital after a stroke. He was born Dec. 10, 1893, in Steinfurth, Germany, a son of Fredrick William and Kathar-in- a Leonhardt Weiser. He was a retired farmer and moved from Germany to Tremonton with his family in 1906. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian church. Survivors include one sister, Sophie Weiser; two nephews and one niece, Arthur Eggli, Fred Eggli and Mrs. Gerald (Gladys) Thomas, all of Tremonton. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Rogers mortuary in Tremonton where friends may call Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until services. Burial will be in Salt Creek cemetery. 83, died March 29, 1977, Perry ward will hear missionary Elder Stanley Zenk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Zenk of Perry, has returned from the Chili' Santiago mission of the LDS church. The elder will report on his labors Sunday, April 3, in the Perry Second ward. Meeting time is 4:15 p.m. Bishop Robert K.
