(Seretta Olsen) Johnsen of Bear River City will be honored by their children at an open house in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. Temple Rite Weds Pair Rites performed Sept. 12 in the Salt Lake LDS temple by President Boyer united Miss Barbara Ann Lemon and Harlan Felt in marriage. Giving the bride in marriage were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy G. Lemon of Willard, while the bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Felt of Layton. That evening the couple greeted guests at a garden reception in the yard of the brides parents home in Bridal Gown and had fashioned her own gown of sheer figured nylon over satin styled with a modified empire skirt bodice and a three-tiere- d tirmmed with velvet. The gowns square neckline was complemented by puffed bell sleeves ending in a fitted lower arm cuff. She carried a bouquet d mums. of Bridesmaids were Miss Eleanor Quist, Mrs. Baird (Alyson) Evans and Mrs. Larry the West, (Renetta) breidegrooms sister. Flower girl was little Diana Stucki. Mr. and Mrs. Johnsen were married Oct. 7, 1922, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple. Area Native native of Bear River City, Johnsen is the son of C.C. and Hansine Johnsen. He has been a farmer in the Bear River area for 48 years, and has been active in LDS church work and served with Boy Scouts for many years. Presently serving as secretary of the Box Elder Canning Crops association, he also served as president for many years and also served on the Box Elder Farm Labor board for many years. Mrs. Johnson was born in Ephraim, a daughter of Soren and Emma Olsen. She came to Bear River City to work and met her future husband there. She has been active in Relief society, MIA and in Sunday school and is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Blue Star Mothers. Balls in honor of their parents 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Artistic Manor, 15 South First East. Friends and relatives are invited to attend and visit with the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Balls were married in the Salt Lake LDS temple on Oct. 5, 1922, and have lived in Brigham City for their entire married life. A native of Hyde Park, Cache County, he was born to Heber and Tomenia Nielsen Balls. He was a carpenter by trade and was employed in the building of Bushnell hospital and remained there on the maintenance staff until it was closed, and was later one of the first employed in the conversion of the hospital to the Intermountain school. He worked there until his having been secretary and president in the elders and high priest quorums for several years. In the Brigham City Lions club he has held every office including the presidency in 1957-5- 8 at which time the large bowery was built at Rees Pioneer Park. He has also held positions on the Lions Zone and State Board and is presently an member of the active organization. May N. Balls is a native of Brigham City, the daughter of Lars P. Nelson and Eliza M. Reeder. She also has been active in club and church work, giving 14 years of devotion to the Stake Relief Society Board, as member counselor and then president. She started as a junior Sunday School teacher when 15 years old and has had different several Mr. and Mrs. Norman B. John of Brigham City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karen, to Kevin Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk R. Nelsen, also of Brigham City. The couple has circled Nov. 2 as their wedding date, with the ceremony to be performed in the Logan LDS temple. They will be honored that evening at a reception in the Eighteenth LDS ward. Miss John is a graduate of Box Elder High school and LDS Seminary graduate. She has taken traina four-yea- r ing as a dental assistant and is locally employed in that field. Also a graduate of Box Elder High school and LDS Seminary, prospective bridegroom Nelsen is attending Weber State college and is a member of the Utah National Guard.
