Show Boar River Reports BOX Kim Kim Mrs. Alva Hardy had her son and family as Sunday dinner guests. It was Lynns birthday. Mrs. Mary Gardner left the Salt Lake International airport Friday for a trip to Orlando Fla. to spend a week with her brother and family Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Munns. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson spent Friday night and Saturday in Salt Lake City attending a wedding and Lynn visiting their daughter and family Mr. and Mrs. David Petersen. Business Trip Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Christensen made a business trip to southern Utah last Friday and Saturday. Their sons Dennis and Blair went with them. Nola Nessler, Sandra Lewis and Carrie J. Christensen visited in Ogden with Dena Christensen on Saturday. Mrs. Violet Jenson of Brigham City is staying with her daughter and family the Roy Braeggers x while recuperating from a fall. Mrs. Bessie Christensen, Phyllis Lewis, Carrie A. Christensen, Florence Gardner, Mary Anderson, Dorothy Ackerman, Ida Christensen, May Christensen, Phyllis A. Holmgren and Carrie J. Christensen helped Annie Bladwin celebrate her birthday last Tuesday afternoon. Games were played and delicious refreshments served. Gary Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerold Williams had a tonsillectomy at the Cooley Memorial hospital last Wednesday. Fred Thompson and son Darwin from Yost visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Huggins on Thursday. Fred will spend the next two months in Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clayson were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Clayson in Richmond. Spending last weekend with Brice Checketts was a missionary companion Jeff Olsen from Salt Lake City. n? Mo Go Dancing U9'no- - Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Koford of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Ike Anderson enjoyed dancing at Hyrum last Saturday night. The music was furnished by the Ernie Jensen orchestra from Ogden. Last Friday the scouts and venturers from Troop 112 journeyed to Camp Wapiti. An evening and night of tubing was enjoyed by the boys and their leaders. Saturday the boys enjoyed more tubing before going to the Hardware ranch to see the Elk. There were 13 scouts, 14 venturers and five adult leaders who attended the activity. Holly Huggins daughter of Farrell Huggins left last Friday by jet for Milwaukee, Wis. to visit her sister and brother-in-laShelia and Larry Dixon and baby Cami. She will also visit Mr. and Mrs. her grand-parent- s Erwin Helms and other relatives at Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Gordon Little from Salt Lake City spent last weekend with Checketts. Gordon and are roommates. New Officers The Primary officers and teachers will meet at the church Friday February 4 at 10 a.m. to collect the envelopes that have been distributed for the penny fund. Please have your pennies ready and be generous. Upon completion of the drive they will return to the church for a pot luck lunch. A baby sitter will be provided. Accompanies Tour Last Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnsen and Mrs. Sue Ferry accompanied the student council, from Box Elder High School on a tour of the State Industrial school in Ogden, then on to Salt Lake City where they attended the Senate while in session at the state capitol. Senator Ferry took the personal privilege to introduce his wife and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Johnsen and the senate gave them a hand. They were then introduced to Mrs. Avarde Fairbanks. She showed them through the supreme court chambers and explained the history of the state and how the supreme court works. She also took them on a complete tour of the main floor of the capitol building including the Governors gold reception room, the Governors board room and the house of representatives chambers. Kathy Braegger spent several days last week with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy Braegger before returning to school at the BYU in Provo. Myrtle Anderson and Carrie J. Christensen attended a DUP chorus practice at the home of Brooks Shuman in Mrs. Tremonton on Friday. Twenty guests enjoyed Sunday birthday dinner with Brice Checketts at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Mario Checketts. Elmo and Kathleen visited with the Max Weese family, the Christensens Gaylen Tremonton and in Capeners the in Russell Riverside last Sunday. Thirl Mr. ' and ' Mrs. Christensfen and ion Scott of Brountiful, Utah visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Irving Christensen last Sunday. Mrs. Zella Harris of Ogden and Mrs. LaRue Tolman of Roy entertained with a baby shower for Mrs. Connie Cannon of Clearfield at the home of Mrs. Zella Harris Saturday afternoon. President Reese Mason and Virgil Waldron were present to represent the stake. President Merlin Larsen, President Mason and Brother Waldron spoke. They encouraged us to be more dedicated to the gospel this year. The theme for the conference was "Greater Dedication. First counselor Brown and Second Counselor Flint bore their testimonies Sherry and Toni Flint, Ruth Silvester sang The Stranger of Galilee." They were accompanied by Wanda Larsen. Attend Banquet Merlin and Wanda Larsen, Clynn and Winifred Richman and Leo and Doris Flint attended the NFO banquet Wednesday night. The theme of meeting was to encourage the farmers to unite to solve their problems. The banquet was held at the Bear River Junior High school. Clynn and Winifred Richman traveled to Brigham Tiro Saturday evening in the cultural hall. Rulon Duncan offered the opening prayer after which games were played under the P. direction of Janice Holmgren. Father, Daughter Square dancing was then enjoyed by the fathers and daughters followed with a delicious dinner consisting of meat loaf, baked potatioes, beans, corn, hot rolls, ice cream and cake. Local Girl Recovers After Mishap A Brigham City girl was reportedly recovering at home after she received in a injuries multiple snowmobiling accident in Fork Blacksmith canyon Saturday night. Kathy Burnett, daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Burnett, 217 East Seventh' North, was driving a snowmobile when it hit a bump and went out of control. The victim was thrown from the vehicle into a wooden fence and received an ear laceration and multiple bruises. An ambulance was called but she was taken to the Logan LDS hospital in a private car, before it arrived. She was treated and released from the hospital the same night. Miss Burnett was at the party with other Box Elder High school cheerleaders and their dates. Jack Morrill of Ely, Nev. was an overnight visitor at the home of his brother Clayton Morrill recently. ' Morrill had traveled here from the Indian reservation where he is employed by the Bureau of Indian affairs. He transacted business at Thiokol the following day. He was accompanied by an Indian from the reservation. The young boy was very polite and thanked the Morrill family for their hospitality during his stay there. Darryl Marble, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Marble celebrated his eighth birthday with friends and classmates on Tuesday. The boys accompanied him home on die school bus to spend a afternoon playing happy ' games. Birthday cake and ice cream were served to the group by Darryls mother before she returned them to their homes. Mrs. Alice Marble spent a happy birthday on Jan. 21. She accompanied her daughter-in-laDella Marble to Paradise to visit with her daughters and their families.
