Harris Work is near completion on the new tennis court located on the town square here. The court covers an area of 100 x 60 feet and will serve a dual purpose, the north end a full basketball court. This has been a project with Larry L. Howell, Moyle Knudsen, Josh Hawks, Miller Follis and many others working on it. Mayor Larry L. Howell conducted a town meeting Saturday morning to discuss the conservaton of water and its usage to the best advantage. It has been found necessary to ration the culinary water. The reservoir is practically empty and the electric pump which was installed several years ago is working constantly to supply the needs of the community. Left by Plane Reed Nielsen and grandsons, Scott Nielsen of Portage, Darron and Dustin Cannon of North Ogden left Salt Lake City by plane Monday for Vancouver, B.C., where they visited with Allan Nielsen and enjoyed sightseeing. Allan brought them to their homes Sunday night and plans to work on his fathers farm during the grain harvest. Some of the highlights of their trip were driving their car on to the ferry at Vancouver and riding to Victoria and from there to Seattle and a sightseeing tour of that area. Mrs. Sam (Ruth) Snow suffered a broken wrist Wednesday when the horse she was riding was spooked by a sudden noise just at the time she reached to the ground to recover the reins her little son Billie had dropped from his Shetland pony'. She was treated for the injury at Malad. June Denny, son Steve and daughter, Kathy left Saturday for their home in Green Acres, Wash., after a ten day visit with Junes parents, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs and other relatives. They took Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs to Idaho Falls Wednesday where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Merrill and with Mrs. Cecil McCrary and to Moreland where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Tasman Gibbs. Mrs. Laura Hess of Rigby, Idaho is visiting this week with her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Ora H. John. Vodis Ward of Idaho Falls brought her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley to their home Friday after several days visit. She was joined Sunday by her son, Eric Ward of McComb, 111. He and his wife, Marilyn are spending the summer months in Provo where Marilyn is attending BYU. Vodis and her son left Sunday for Idaho Falls to join Mr. Ward and Erics son Craig who is employed there. Kitchen Shower Hall and Brenda Turley attended a kitchen shower in honor of Miss Candy Bowen Fern at Ogden Thursday bride-ele- evening. Mrs. John Senton and sons of Pleasanton, Calif., visited with Mrs. Esther John Friday. Mrs. Thyra Taylor of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Don Conley and sons of San Francisco, Calif, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wendell C. Hall Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Allen of Malta, Cheryl and Janet Allen of Logan were overnight guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Allen and son Wayne Friday. Fern Channell, 77, of 177 North Second West, was crossing Main street at Third North about 8 p.m. when the incident took place, police said. Police said the driver of the vehicle carried the woman to the side of the roadway, gave her his name and other information then left.
