Show BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah 20 Elwood man awaits Thursday April 28, 1977 Corinne Comments Big by Marlene Harper waking hours, reaching completion. He imagines the Corinne school, the PTA and the community, working together to finish the school playground project, they started last fall. In Grants reverie, the playground project will function in two parts. The equipment, donated is going to be set up so as to enable the school classes to have a very good physical fitness course. There will be more fun equipment for the children to use during school hours and more fun equipment for the community to use during hours. Grant stretches and laying on his back and peering into the dark night he thinks the best part about the playground project so far is that it hasnt cost any money. But he grimaces as he thinks of the items that are still needed. He wonders how the playground can get ten truck tires in non-scho- good condition, three pieces of one inch galvanized six-fo- water pipe, three five-fo- pieces of one inch galvanized water pipe, and ten corral poles in good condition which are ten to 13 feet long. Grant Skeen wishes if any one has any of these items or a power drill with a half to three quarter inch bit and a one inch bit they would contact Ginger 5 or the school Burt 744-554- Marvelous Scene Then Grant visualizes a marvelous scene. He sees the community and parents with their children helping to assemble this playground equipment on Saturday, May 7 at 8 a.m. Then he foresees a tasty lunch being given to all those who help. Everyone is having a good time working and eating and working. Next Saturday May 14, Grant reckons the playground workers will be adding the finishing touches to a fun job. If any Corinneites would like to see the Corinne school and the PTA a reality, you can. For the plans, contact Ginger Burt or Corinne school. Better yet be a part of the finished playground project, come and help. You can make a dream come true. Ladies have you ever wanted a genie to help you perfrom the drudgery of housework? Because four young homemakers did. Mrs. Margie Mills, Mrs. Jan Rasmussen, Mrs. Marlene Harper and Mrs. Dianne Jeppe-se- n invested in an Aladdin last Monday. However, the ladies do not rub a little oil lamp hoping some mysterious hardworking spirit will enter the room. File Card Instead they take out a three by five card file. Then they pull out the appropriate Aladdin card. Such as the one that gives them a 15 minute job, maybe cleaning out the kitchens top drawer or rearranging the boys closet shelf. The idea was conceived by Jeanne Godfrey to make caring for her large family more pleasurable. She calls her system of rotating cards Jeannes Aladdin. And just by doing a little card pulling a day, its amazing how those little Jeannes are making some Corinne housework more savory. Congratualtions goes to Lynn Hokanson who received his mission call this week. In June, Lynn will be laboring for the LDS church in Rapid City, S.D. Corinne welcomes Mr. and Mrs. John Durbin and their four children, Carl five, Kelly four, Lisa, three, and Misty, eight months. The Durbins have joined our community, and are living next door to the Robert Smoot family. Grover and Eva Harper have returned from St. George. They are looking forward to a full of The family of Arthur Erickson of Elwood will honor him at an open house on Friday, April dream is to finish project In the wee hours of the night, when most of Corinne is fast asleep, Grant Skeen is dreaming of children and playgrounds. He envisions architec-tua- l plans, thought of in his summer birthday open house golfing, fishing, farming and wading in Stinky Springs. They will also visit with their many grandchildren and This couple certainly doesnt let any grass grow under their feet. Eva has already started making Christmas sweaters for all her descendants and their families. The Amos Hatch family joined the Curtis Hatch family by going with Mary to her sisters wedding. Mrs. Mary Christensen Hatch saw Paula Christensen, one of nine children in their family, marry Robert Brewer on April 22. The reception was in Mount Pleasant, and made a terrific excuse for a fun family reunion. singing Mothers Day songs. If you were two and already missed your mommy, how would you feel? Peggy Smoot and SueAnn Norman returned from Hawaii last week. They brought several things home with them including Hawaiin flowers, sun tans, presents and great big smiles. Corinne had three very fun young marrieds parties this weekend. Starting Friday evening, West Corinne made a Hawaiian Paradise out of the Corinne cultural hall. The big hit of the party was Richard Vellinga who turned into a charming comedian as he entertained the couples with his swords and Samoian dancing. Saturday evening ten West Corinne couples invaded the Tremonton bowling alley. If the bowlers could get a strike when the red pin was in the number one position, a pizza was Dennis Rasmussen and Jerry Harper won the pizzas. A fun time was had by all and then a picnic was served in one of the rooms. Fitness Fair Also in Corinne the Young Marrieds and Relief society had a fitness fair. A short lesson was presented on nutrition and weight control. Then a film about exercise, made by BYU, was shown. It was about jogging and running. It had the captivating grade one title of Run Dick, Run Jane. Then healthy refreshments were served-cake- tal. Special Trip Mr. and Mrs. Everett Anderson recently went to Arizona on a special get acquainted trip with her fathers family. . They started on Highway 89 visiting Wahweap by Glen Canyon Dam and went to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. From there they went to Flagstaff and then on to Phoenix which they hadnt seen for 20 years. There they met Margarets aunts Lucille Morrs, Glenna Haws and Alice Curtis and their families. They went to the Mesa temple with another relative, Myrtle Hatch. From there they went to Safford, Ariz. where Mrs. Andersons parents had lived. For the first time she saw her fathers grave. He passed away when she was only six. One of the trips highlights was seeing President Kimballs home in Safford, and the academy Hila, where he went to school. Apparently her fathers folks were close to and the children had grown up together. Metro shopping in Phoenix fascinated the Andersons, they said. The shopping centers were so big, they made any others seem like toys. Everetts nephew and family Wayne and Jaunita Anderson escorted the Corinne Andersons into the desert. They found homes in Carefree, Ariz., interesting. They were built out in the sand and blended in with the desert shurbbery. Mrs. Anderson said, You had to look closely to see these homes if at any distance. Stage Coach Pass also had unusual homes built out of desert colored cement blocks. Thehomes were built up on the rocks with the desert plants blooming cactus. Before returning home the Andersons spent Monday with the missionaries and Darrell Anderson family. When half empty, they use more energy, because air is harder to keep cold than chilled foods and liquids... but foods should be placed slightly apart on refrigerator shelves for proper air circulation. Cover liquids in frost-fre- e units, because moisture is drawn away from uncovered liquids, which makes the refrigerator work harder. Defrost conventional refrigerators at least twice a month and freezers at least annually. A frost buildup of more than 14 inch makes the cooling unit work harder.
