Saturday afternoon they enjoyed pizza and ice cream before returning home. Merlin Larsen, Darrell Wintle and some friends traveled to southern Utah. They were there to partake in a turkey hunt. They reported lots of hunting but no luck. They didn't even see at track. Johnson, Brigham City, has received double honors for his outstanding undergraduate performance at Utah State university Johnson has been offered the coveted Fulbright scholarship to study German at the University of Gottingen and a four year, $10,400 fellowship to do graduate work at Ohio State university at Columbus. He has received permission from OSU to delay acceptance of the fellowship for one full year so that he may accept the Fulbright. At the German university, Johnson will concentrate in Germanic literature. The following officers were elected for the coming school Barbara Schmidt, year; president; Nadine Udy, vice Bette Dallin, president; secretary and Joyce Williams, treasurer. Jeffery Dallin sang a solo accompanied by himself on the guitar. Teresa Anderson, Lisa Oman and Teri Hansen sang a number accompanied by Mrs. Pat Anderson. The guest speaker for the evening was Prof. Rex Ashdown from Weber State college. His subject was child abuse. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of the meeting. Mrs. Nola Nessler, Ruth Munns, LaVon Nelson, Dorothy Paskett, Shirley Iverson, Mary Gardner and Artel Brailsford attended the banquet at the Cross Roads Cafe on Friday night for the school lunch association. Mary S. Anderson drove to Preston, Idaho on Thursday where she visited and had lunch with her brother LeRoy Smith and wife. In the evening she attended a musical with her daughter Reva Merrill. Friday she accompanied the Wayne Merrill family to Rexburg, Idaho to attend the graduation exercises at Ricks college. Her granddaughter Mary Ann Merrill was one of the graduates. ' Attend Banquet Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnsen attended the Thespian club banquet held at the Red Baron in Brigham City. They later attended the BTvers formal ball, in the small gym at Box Elder High school. Mr. and Mrs. James Scifres and son from Graton, Conn., spent an evening at the Gerald Williams home on their way back to Connecticut. They have been visiting in Twin Falls and - Boise for the past month. Mrs. Ella Richardson from Malad, Idaho is visiting at the W,G. Williams home. Mrs. Renee Hansen and daughters Becky and Shelley from Mesa, Wash, visited over the weekend with the Leland Anderson family. Becky attended school at Ricks college the past winter. They left Monday for their home in Washington. The Andersons and Hansens visited their brother Glade Anderson and family in Hyrum on Saturday. Glades daughter Cheri has recently had surgery, for the third time, on her leg. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mateson and son Chris from Ely, Nev., were weekend guests at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Mateson. Bear River camp DUP will hold the May meeting Friday May 12 at the home of Mrs. Elvira Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Checketts from Blanding, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Checketts and children from Salt Lake City and Carl Checketts from Ogden visited relatives here over the weekend. Michael and Nanci Sheppard and son Matt from El Monte, Calif., spent eight days recently with the Dennis Cusick family. They spent some time skiing and fishing. They also enjoyed a tour of temple square. Michael is Mrs. Cusicks brother. The family Clayson celebrated the birthday of their mother, Mrs. Lula Clayson Sunday afternoon at the home of her son Mr. and Mrs. Keith Clayson in Richmond. Dinner was served to 25 people. The remainder of the day was spent visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Christensen spent Saturday and Bob the with Sunday Christensen family in Hyde Park. Mrs. Dell Holmgren was in Garland Monday with other family members celebrating the birthday of her mother, Mrs. Leonard Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Vay Jensen and son Leon visited Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Jensen in Burley and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Greene and family in Jerome, Idaho last Sunday. Floyd received ultra violet ray burns in his eyes Saturday from a welder. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Porritt and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Williams were Ogden visitors Saturday night. Mrs. Gayle Brinkerhoff and baby Justin from St. George spent last weekend visiting with the Dwight Andersons and Ronald Leonards. Miles Jensen, son of Clifford the received Jensen Achievement of the Year award at the Robins award night Saturday evening at the USU in Logan. He also accepted the trophy for the academic council which won the organization of the year award. Several people from here attended entertainment. Boyd and Senneth Hawkes were business visitors in Salt Lake City on Monday. Carrie and Irving Christensen visited in Ogden with Dena Christensen on Sunday afternoon. It was good to see Mrs. Violet Jensen at church Sunday after her long sick spell.
