Show 18 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah ThursdayTovember 19, 1970 Ice Willard Reports Capades On Tap at Talents Displayed At Piano Recital Salt Palace An ince-a-del- frolicking love-i- happening, a a fanciful By Mrs. toyland and great skating A piano talents are all present in this seasons Ice Capades which opened Nov. 25, at the Salt Palace arena in Salt Lake City. Spotlights will be focused on the strongest cast of skating talent ever presented in one show. North and Canadian American Champion Donald Knight returns as headliner on this years show along with Olympic contenders Roy and Sandi Wagelein, Japanese Champion Sashi Kuchiki, Olympic contender Tina Noyes and lovely Janet Runn. Two family acts are featured, the Beards, Californias talented addition, and the Romanos, magic from France. In the laughter department, hilarious Hans Leiter returns with his antics along with the comedy team of John ICE SHOW This season's Ice Capades opened this week at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. A variety of ice skating talent is on tap for the show. and Denise LaBrecque LaLonde. Newcomers this season are two adagio teams, Kiki and Clive, an outstanding pair from Europe, and Peter Gordon and Barbara Wilson. Tickets are available at Mickeys Music store. By Andrea Huggins Bear River City can well be proud of its Boy Scouts. A court of honor was held Sunday evening in connection with sacrament meeting. Leland Andersen is scout master and Frank Gardner and Ray Frost his assistants. In the past year the boys have earned 123 merit badges. Warren Jenson, Kirk Iverson, Jeff Gardner and Mark Andersen gave talks on different phases of scouting. Rulon Duncan, Clinton Burt, and Byron Weidman are the executive board. Alvin (Bud) Andersen is president of Young Mens Mutual. At present we have only one Eagle scout (David Weidman) in our ward, but hope within a year there will be at least six more. TSgt. and Mrs. William E. Bolduc are visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Teak) M. Jensen. Sgt. Bolduc is on leave until Nov. 23 at which date he will leave for one year tour in Southeast Asia. The Bolduc's spent the past 16 months at Laredo AFB in Laredo, Texas. During their stay there they visited Mexico often and brought back a few souvenirs of culture from this interesting country. While Bill is in Asia, Janet Shotgun Missing and their daughter, Shannon, will live with Janets parents. During her stay she plans to spend her leisure time perfecting her oil painting and creative bead flower arrangements which is an old Mexican art rarely seen in the United States. Birthday Surprise Andersen LaVere guage shotgun was reported missing by Robert Petersen, 836 West Seventh South Sunday, according to police reports. Petersen said he parked his truck by the Ring Side cafe, 380 North Main, and when he returned he discovered the gun missing. A 12 was pleasantly surprised Tuesday when his two brothers Blaine and Dwight and their wives brought refreshments and helped him celebrate his bir- thday. Mr. and Mrs. James Karo and children of Ogden were dinner guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Huggins. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bassett of Citrus, Calif., were recent visitors at the home of Lorin and Mae Christensen. Martin and Mae are brother and sister. Mrs. Elvira Christensen, Meda Holmgren and Lula Clayson were hostesses to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, held at the home of Mrs. Christensen Friday afternoon. Myrtle H. Andersen read a sketch of her grandmother, Mrs. Eliza B. Madsen. Mrs. Nell Nelson entertained at a birthday party in honor of her son, Douglas's eighth birthday anniversary. This will be the first time all of the county dairy princess winners will have met in preparation for the coronation Saturday evening. Prior to and during the banquet, judges will be able to interview the girls and make preliminary selections for the new princess, who will be chosen during an hour-lon- g television show Saturday night. Saturday evening will be the Dairy Princess pageant and dinner in the Lafayette ballroom.
