Not only will the ticket for the carnival entitle the holder to a gala evening of dancing carnival attractions, but it will entitle some youngster, probably from Box Elder county, struck by the dreaded disease, to the treatment necessary for the recuperation and rehabilitation, Pella said. With the sudden increase of polio in Box Elder county and in the nation higher than ever before it was decided by the committee in charge that profits from the affair would most beneficially be used in the cure and rehabilitation of polio victims. Interest in the carnival is heightened by the fact that a bevy of valuable prizes will be given away among which will be a new fully equipped Jeep, shotguns, shells, sleeping bags and other equipment. s All of the members of the are selling tickets and they are also on sale where ever there is a sign advertising the event. According to Pella arrangements for the affair are complete, and it promises to be one in the history of of the best Duck Carnivals, which originated when the 'Bird Refuge was completed to draw hunters to the Brigham City area. So that there will be no interference between the dance and the carnival attractions, arrangements have been made to have the dance on the top floor of the War Memorial home and the carnival attractions on the Jay-cee- bottom floor. All of the carnival prices will be at a nominal prices, Pella said. . With duck season, opening Friday, October 14, and hunting reaching a peak of interest Saturday, the following day, a fine place to spend a relaxing evening after a day of hunting, .to have a good time and to help children struck with polio, will be at the Duck Carnival, Pella continued.
