Boy on Thursday last is ciarged with first degree murder in a complaint issued this week by County jAttomey Arthur E. Funeral services for Tony Santa Ferrara were held from the undertaking Parlors of the ""Ed. O'Donnell Co., on Tuesday. Interment ; was made in the '''Bingham cemetery. He is sur- - vived by a brother, Carmine Fer-rar- a who resides at Syracuse, New York. AUTOMOBILE WRECKED NEAR KAPPLE RANCH Nick Mataja of Lark took nine of his friends to Bingham to attend the services at the Holy Rosary church, also to 'have christening rites perform-ed on the little girl of Matt Blockovitch. On returning from Bingham about 2 o'clock near the Kapple ranch on the New Bingham road Mataja lost con-trol of the car, a Chevrolet, which he was driving, with the result the car plunged over the 'enbankment, turning over three times and finally landing on the old Bingham road. Mary Zan-nic- k suffered a broken collar bone. Mataja had a badly cut lip and a broken rib. Mike Blockovitch is suffering from a hurt shoulder. There were five children all of whom escaped in-jury. , Mrs. Zannick was taken to the Bingham Hospital and was attended by Doctor C N. Cain and was removed later to her home in Lark. The car has been towed to a Murray garage where it will be repaired. Bingham Society Mrs. J. A. Forbes and daugh-ter Mary Jane returned from Salt Lake City the past week af-ter visiting with relatives and friends. i Mrs Joe Ross and daughter of Salt Lake City are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mar-riott, i Lester P. Fagan, pasfor of the M; E. Community church has left Bingham for Pittsburg, Penn where he will engage in church work for the next month. Thomas- - Gaythwaite of --Cum? berland, England is a recent ar-rival in camp and is at the home of his brother Edward Gaith-wait- e. E. H. Davis of Evanston, Wy-oming is visiting here with his sister Miss Maggie Davis. Mrs. Joe Scussel, with her charming young daughter Lena, motored to Salt Lake City and visited with friends on Thurs-day, Miss Agnes Grier spent the week end in Ogden with Mi's. John Stagg. Miss Lovetta Stewart motor-ed to Salt Lake and spent a pleasant evening Wednesday with friends at the Orpheum. Mrs. M. L. James and daugh-ters, Patsy and Helen of Union are the guests of the Misses Agnes, Grace and Ivy James., The N. B. Club met at the home of Miss Lovetta Stewart on Wednesday evening. Re-freshments were served and a good time experienced by the Misses Alice and Agnes Greer, Clara Grant. Betty Gaithwaite, Mrs. Florence Toy and Mrs. Greer. Miss Marion Austin of Mis-souri is the latest acquisition to Jim's Old Place. Mrs. A. J, Sorenson is the guest of Mrs. Bert Hocking at Salt Lake City this week. The "Newly married Club" met at the home of Mrs. Clar ence Connary on Wednesday evening. BOXING FANS TO HAVE A , TREAT ON THE 24th The Princess Theatre has been engaged for the evening of the 24th and a god boxing program has been arranged for the Bing-ham fans. The chief event will be a six round bout for the wel-terweight championship of Bingham between Tom Clark, formerly of Rock Springs, Wyo. and Joe Delaney. Willie Hazelton will box Dick Dean six rounds for the light-weight championship of Bing-ham. Two Fourr round bouts of lo-cal battlers will be of much in-terest, viz: Sid Tregaskis and Frankie . Dean and George Stringham and Pete Petersont Mr. Delaney has worked some time for the success of this af-fair and Bingham fans'will ob-tain their moneys worth. JORDAN DISTRICT SCHOOL ENROLLMENT The following is a compar-ative report of the enrollment of the various schools of the Jor-dan District, for the years 1921-2- 2 and 1922-2- 3. It will be no-ticed that the report shows a total increase of 66 pupils for the entire district. Bingham shows the greatest increase with 61. Riverton shows the great-est decrease, the enrollment be-ing 43 less. Herriman has exact-ly the same enrollment, 69. . ROBBED Angelo Irazabal, a miner and a former employee of the Utah Consolidated Mining Co. was robbed of several hundred dol-lars at Salt Lake City the past week. He left Bingham recent-ly it was said with money to pay the funeral expenses of his brother, and was robbed by an unknown man at the Rio Grande depot, he reported his case, to the Salt Lake police who are now investigating. ENTERTAIN IN BINGHAM , After delighting audiences through the State Fair the Electrical Exhibition and other big attractions at Salt Lake City the past week the Young Men's Club of Copperfield have se-cured the services of the above entertainers and will give one of their most popular dances at the I. O. O. F. Hall in Copperfield on Wednesday, October 25th. The Copperfield Young Men's Club know how to deliver the goods and they do it. BINGHAM GIRLS WINS HONORS Miss Lillian Chiara has been granted a 1st class State Cer-tificate for teaching in the pub-lic schools of Utah from October 14th, 1922 to Otober 1927. Miss Chiara is a pleasing young lady and her many friends, will be pleased to learn of her success. DR. STRAUP IM-PROVES SLOWLY Dr, F. E. Straup is still con-fined at the L. D. S. Hospital and although his recovery is slow it is hoped after a few weeks he will be in a position to shake hands with his many friends in Bingham. EAGLES TO HAVE BIG TIME The local Eagles will enter-tain on Monday evening next. COMMUNITY STORE OPENS Harry Mitchell, recently of Butte City, Montana, has open-ed a Community store opposite the old Canyon Hall. Mr. Mitch-ell was connected with the Bing-ham Mercantile Co. for a period of fifteen years and thoroughly knows the wants of the people' of Bingham. The store is equipped with an upto-dat- e, soda fountain, and ice cream par-- ! lor, and in winter will handle hot drinks. Mr. Mitchell has a fine assortment of canned good3 and all kinds of notions.
