Commun-ity Church here for several months has proven himself quite popular. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis are on their honeymoon trip and after ten days will be at home at at 442 Main Street Mr. Ellis will no longer be connected with the above church. SPEEDER ARRESTED James Kutcher of Salt Lake City, was arrested for speeding in the City limits here on Thurs-day. Kutcher, officials say, was driving a Marmon car at the rate of fifty miles an hour. It is high time that speeding in Bingham was eliminated. The narrowness of the streets makes it imposs-ible for children and elderly per-sons to appear on the street if speeding is not stopped. The Town Board recently got out new ordinances on speeding and they will be strictly enforced to the letter even if an additional num-ber of officers have to be put on the force. JOHN ANDERSON VISITS IN CAMP i Dr. John Anderson of Glen- - I dale, California, stopped off at I Salt Lake the past week . and 1 visited friends in Bingham. Dr. Anderson is on his way to New York City where he intends tak-ing a post graduate course. Dr. Anderson was formerly in busi-ness here with Dr. P. E. Straup, during that time he did much to help the town and its people. He was president of .the Bing-ham Post No. SO, American Leg-ion and also president of the Commercial Club, which is now defunct. He was well known and respected and his many friends here will wish him every success In his work. During his stay in camp he was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Dahlquist. - GATES OF BINGHAM CEMETERY TO BE KEPT CLOSED The Town Board of Bingham has spent hundreds of dollars to put Bingham Cemetery in a position where roaming stock are unable to get inside and do harm. The Board has put a fence around with gates whieh should be kept fastened. A complaint has been turned in of people visiting the ceme tery and leaving without clos-ing the gates, stock have gotten in, and damaged the grass and headstones. No fees are charg-ed by the Board for interment and those who take an interest in the same should see the gates are shut when they leave, other-wise the Board will deem it nec essary to padlock them. Heber on Sunday. Bob Wells and family motored to the Jackson Hole country and intends visiting in Yellowstone Park before he returns. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Scott and family of Salt Lake visited with her parents Mr. and Mrs. R. Con-na- ry the past week. The Bachelor , Girls gave a party at the home of Miss Mary Ellen Hyland the past week in honor of her Birthday. Charles Nutting and Frank Croy two of Bingham's able fish-ermen intend to break any record that Bill and Lon have made. Miss Fay Patten has left camp in her new car for a two week's vacation. ' Mrs. J. Bogan and family are at their home in Salt Lake City for a few'week's'vacation'. -" Miss Lillian Chicara has left Bingham to attend Summer School at the University of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. C. Atherley, Mrs. Zion and Miss Cora Hocking ' spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mark James at their Ranch in . Union. The T. O. M. Club met on Thursday last at the home of Miss Lillian Chiara. Those who participated were Mrs. Willard Richardson, Miss Lee Dean, Miss Ivy James, Miss Agnes James and the Misses Phoebe and Anna Masters. A delightful luncheon was served. Mrs. Steve Hays of Salt Lake City has been the guest of Mrs. . Fred Straup this week. Harry Noble of Salt Lake City and a former old time Bingham resturant man is in camp this week renewing old acquaintan-ces. Miss Kersa Black of Salt Lake City is spending a few weeks here with Miss Margie McCon-nel- l. . Mr. and Mrs.' Ralph C. Smith are entertaining Mr. Smith's mother Mrs. L. A. Smith : of Quincy, Illinois. , A surprise party was given on Miss Jean Edwards at her home in the Bourgard Apartments on Thursday last. A luncheon was served, games played and enjoy-ed. Those who enjoyed the af-fair were the Misses Susie Stringham, Amy Rowe, Lavina Von Berg, Madge Henry, Hazel Heather, Gladys Davis, and Jean Patten, Billy Wells, Glen Ander-son, Estelle Gust, J. Brian, Hy-land and Henry Stillman. BINGHAM TO HAVE NEW CLOTHING STORE The store building, formerly occupied by Selig's clothing store, will be opened on or about August 1st, with an entire new line of clothing, shoes and gent's furnishings. The building is lo-cated at 505 Main street. Mr. B. P. Buck will be the pro-prietor of the store and will live in Bingham with his family. iCOPPERFIELD RESIDENTS WANT POST OFFICE i On Thudsday evening last a mass meeting was held in Cop-perfie-ld with the idea to peti-tion the Postoffice Department to establish a Postoffice there. . Inspector C. F. Dutton of Den-ver, Colorado,-wh- o has been here the past week investigating the Bingham postoffice, was present. John Knudsen is to be congrat-ulated for his dogged persistency in bringing this matter to the front. One mail carrier, mounted, de-livers mail daily to the people of CopBrfield. Dinkeyville and the outlying districts of the U. S. Mines. If the P. O. Department dem it advisable for a postoffice to be established et Copperfield it will remain to be proven in the near future. FIREMEN WILL GIVE DANCE Under the auspices of the Fire Departments of Bingham a Dance will be given at the Bing-ham "Gym' in August. The Kinney Bros. Orchestra have been engaged for the occas-sio- n and will entertain with vocal selections. The dance will be given for the purpose of raising funds to send teams to the Fire-men's State Tournament to be held at Provo on August the 24th. COPPERFIELD FIREMEN WILL GIVE DANCE The Copperfield Fireman will entertain the County Firemen at the I. O. O. F. Hall in Copperfield, on Saturday the 22nd. A busi-ness meeting will be held with a Dance following. COPPERFIELD YOUNG MEN'S CLUB GIVES DANCE AND LUNCH The Kinney Bros. Famous or-chestra has been engaged for a dance to be given at the Society Hall in Bingham on Tuesday, July 25th. A big Luncheon will also be served. Maccabee Representative Visits Camp J. B. Elliott, of Detroit, Mich-igan, who is connected with the office of the Supreme Command-er of the Order was in camp on Thursday conferring with H. N. Standish, Secretary of the Order here as to placing this loc&J on 1 legal reserve basis. THE DIAMOND CAFE IS NEW RESTAURANT Frank Smith, . who has been connected with the Country Club and similar special clubs at Salt Lake City has opened the old Croy Restaurant in the basement of the Diamond this week. Mr. Smith announces his place of business wil be open for business at all hours, day and night. Bill Bowland, the Bingham un-dertaker returned to camp the past week after, undergoing stomach treatment at St. Mark's Hospital for the past three weeks his many friends are pleased to see him back on his old grounds. Al Osborne of Midvale form-erly one of Bingham's city dads was a visitor to camp on Wed-nesday. LITTLE GIRL BREAKS HER ARM. Bessie Kapple, the 12 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kapple while playing around the yard of their home the past week fell and broke her left arm. Dr. Johny Flynn attended the little patient.
