Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. flerriman Man Is Electrocuted Meets Instant Death In Attempt to Remedy " Transformer Trouble John William Boodell, employed in the meter department of the Utah .Power and Light company, was instantly, in-stantly, killed Tuesday evening near his home in Herriman when he at-jtjempted at-jtjempted to repair a broken transformer. trans-former. Mr. Boodell, a recent grad-t,uate grad-t,uate of the Coyne Electrical school j of Chicago, was returning to his home when he noticed the transformer had been damaged by the rainstorm. In an attempt to repair it he came into contact with a high voltage wire that burned his hands severely and knocked knock-ed him to the ground. Deceased was not equipped with line man's tools and evidently went up the pole to remedy some electrical defect of his own accord and in order to help someone else. He was not employed i in that capacity by the Utah Power and Light company. On June 3, while employed by the U. S. Smelter, in Midvale, Mr. lWlell filed an application for a position a I Apprentice Lineman with the Midvale office of the U P &. L and was being considered for that position. At the time of his death, he was employed in the meter department at Salt Lake City. Dr. Lindsay, of Midvale, was called and arrived at the scene of the accident acci-dent about i:0 Tuesday evening. He stated that life was extinct at that time. Mr. Boodell was born in Herriman December 11, l'JOO, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Boodell. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Pearl Seal Boodell, Boo-dell, and two young children, Juanita and John Bryan Bootlell. He also is survived by his parents, one brothel and seven sisters.
