J --T- O TISSUES J (hit jPll LARK NEWS Marilyn Dalley, PR Lark Ward Relief SociHy is go-ing to hold their annunl Christmas party at the Lark Ward House Tuesday at 10 a.m. As part of the program members of the Relief So-ciety will tell about their happiest Christmas. There will also be ex-changing of gifts and Christmas refreshments will be served. Mrs. Larry Howland and her sis-ter, Mrs. MelRoy Bridges of Hunter enjoyed the day Saturday together in Salt Lnke City. Lark Ward M.I.A. sponsored a one-a- ct play Tuesday. The play's cast consisted of Lorraine Rostron, Lois Fahrni, Billy Allinson, Connie Edwards, Marsha Walker and Ro-bert Moulton. There also was a song "Silver Bells" sung by Judy Hansen, Carol and Suellen Rasmus-se- n and Marilyn Dalley, a dance, Virginial Reel, by members of the mutual and a game was played which had for a prize, a toy poodle made by Mrs. Donna Bardsley. A delightful time was enjoyed by all. Mr. and Mr. Robert Peterson and boys, Bobby and Rodney, of Salt Lake City visited Sunday with Mrs. Zelma Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Allinson and boys, Danny and Billy, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Baum of Murray Sunday. Mrs. Uettia Peter-son also was a dinner guest. The Lark Ward Beehive girls en-joyed an evening of caroling Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs. LeCrand Beckstrom and children, Kirt and Brent, of West Jordan enjoyed dinner Tues-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foist and family, Judy, Kar-en and Sharlene. Buddy Randall, who is presently attending C.S.U. at Cedar City, vis-ited recently with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Randall. Mrs. Jessie Neilsen and family, Wayne, Marty and Barbara Jo, Mrs. Boyd Jensen and family, Jeffrey and Saundra, Mra. June Draper and daughter, DeLauna, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carson and family, Gale, Harry, Janice and Scott, and Mrs. Thomas Walker and daughter. Marsha, were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mrs. Virginia Seal of Riverton. Va.; Mra. Henry lasella of Midvale; Mrs. Andrew (Katherine) Takis, Jr., Salt Lake City; and Mrs. W. C. (Helen) Chapman, Ogden. They also have 12 grandchildren and four n. Last Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Spratling attended a drama workshop at Granger High conduc-ted by Ruth and Nathan Hale. West Jordan Second Ward Mu-tual Marrieds are holding their Christmas dinner, program and dance at the ward amusement hall this Saturday night, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kerk-ma- n are in charge of arrangements. Last Monday was clinic day. for Jordan School District residents. The lines were long and kept the nurses busy. The immunization clinic was held from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pioneer Hall in West Jordan. Shots were given for whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus (lock jaw for children up to 8 years old), and diphtheris, tetanus (lock jaw), polio, typhoid and small pox for anyone. The West Jordan Second Ward annual Christmas party will be' held on Friday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. under direction of the ward MIA, it is reported. Mrs. Carolyn Hogan Jones of West Jordan and Deon Crawford were married Dec. 5. After a honey moon in California the couple will make their home in Sandy. Visiting the past week with Mr. and M. Royal Spratling has been their son in law, Mark L. Money from San Marino, Calif. During his stay Mr. Money has also been visit-ing with relatives in Spanish Fork. Karen Burkinshaw will present her Christmas program for the fa-mily and friends of her dan.ee stu-dents next week. Monday, Dec. 18, is the date set for her students in this area, the program for Kearns students will be held on Wednes-day, Dec. 20. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Kouris from Rock Springs, Wyo., will be visit-ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo-rge AdonJakis and other members of her family including Mr. and Mrs. Nick Macris, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Adondakia and many other friends and relatives in the West Jordan area. Money, was on page four) Mrs. Alice Bodell president of the West Jordan Stake Primary entertained at a christmas party for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Silcox, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Giles and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nielson. West Jordan Fourth Ward Pri-mary officers and teachers and partners held their Christmas din-ner party last Friday night. An old fashioned pioneer Christmas theme was carried out in decora-tions and refreshments. Games were played, Christmas carols were sung and Santa Claus visited the party to give out gifts. About 40 were present. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Adondakis visited Sunday with "her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sheets of Ogden. Thursday, Dec. 7th, was quite a different day for students of Wesr Jordan Jr. High. They were hon-ored by a visit from students of the Intermountain Indian School at Brigham City. They had a school lunch, enjoyed an assembly and were taken on a tour of the school, after which they left to return to their own school. It climaxed an exchange of students from Bingham High School and the Intermountain School the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Jay James visited in Draper on Sunday, Dec. 3, and witnessed the blessing of the dau-ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Floyd May, who was blessed by her grandfather, Marcel Graham. Other guests attending the event were Mr. Graham's son, Vivian, Geo Lindsey of Midvale, Mrs. Cora Whitmore and daughter, Myrl of Granite. Mrs. William Booth, West Jor-dan, Mrs. Richard Kemp, Mrs. Har-ris Hubbard of Murray, Mrs. Heber J. Burgon and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Burgon of Union, Mrs. Gordon Tripp of Sandy, Mrs. Charles Schmidt, Mrs. Earl Tripp, Mrs. William Nilsson, Mrs. Ellis Rich and Roland Darkness of Midvale were among the guests who recently at-tended a party at the home of Mrs. Marvin Burgon in Orem honoring Miss Joan Willmore prior to her marriage Dec. I to Kent Burgon. Mrs. Francis Anderson enter-tained at a luncheon and get to-gether on Thursday for the follow-ing guests: Mrs. LeRoy Holt of South Jordan, Mrs. Bert Mitchell of Union and Mrs. Lynn Chiverall of East Midvale. Budget Mart is having a drawing for an Atlas zigzag sewing machine before Christmas. West Jordan Pharmacy is having a drawing for a sports set and doll on December 23 rd. Mrs. George Adondakis enter-tained her bridge club on Wednes-day night of last week. Prizes at cards were won by Mrs. Ellen Fur-gi- s, first; Mrs. Mary Gianopulos, second, and Mra. Anne lasella, tra-veling. Lovely refreshments were served by the hostess. West Jordan Third Ward Relief Society held their monthly wok day and Christmas social Tuesday. Santa Claus will be at the Jordan Builders Supply Co. Saturday after noon from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. George Georgelas of Murray, parents of Mrs. Rose Kouris of West Jordan, were hon-ored at an open house on their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, Dec. 3 in the afternoon at their home. Mr. Georgelas was born in Greece, the son of John and Rose Georgelas. Mrs. Georgelas was born Marie Nicholas, the daughter of Joseph and Angelina Nicholas. The couple came to the United States from Crete, Greece. They were married in Coalville, Summitt County, Dec. I, 1911. They lived for many years in Carbon County where Mr. Georgelas was a coal miner. For the past few years they have lived on a ranch near Murray where they raise chickens. Other children besides Mrs. Kouris are: Col. John G. Festivities began with a banquet and all the trimmings and a program climaxed the even-ing's entertainment. Jay Steadman was in charge of the program and the dinner was supervised by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Palmer and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Klotovich. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bateman who are active in the American Dairy Associatition, attended a dairyman school held at Utah State University at Logan last Wednesday and ThuTS day, Dec. 6th and 7th. Mrs. Laurel Dimond daughter in law of Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Dimond, returned home Dec. 3rd after hav-ing underwent an appendicitis op-eration. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Thomas at-tended the Granite School District administrators dinner last Saturday, Dec. 9, held at the Panorama room in the Union Building at the Uni-versity of Utah. Mrs. Emma Richards fell from a ladder at her home on Dec. I st and broke several bones. She is hos-pitalized at St. Mark's Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jones and family spent Sunday visiting with their mother, Mrs. Martha Christ-ense- n of llerriman.
