Show I Pj, L K FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. JANET HOGAN SET FOR SATURDAY Mrs. Janet Gardner Finlayson Hogan. 79, of 1650 W. 7800 South, West Jordan, active in Salt Lake civic affairs and a former school teacher, passed away Wednesday, August 15, at 8:45 p.m. at her residence of natural causes. A 1906 graduate of the University Univer-sity of Utah, Mrs. Hogan was a teacher in the Jordan School District Dis-trict for a number of years. She was a member of the U. of U. Emeritus Em-eritus Club. Mrs. Hogan served as vice president presi-dent of the original Salt Lake County Coun-ty Fair Board and was president of the state auxiliary of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation. She was honored hon-ored in 1 945. by the federation for meritorious service. Long active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was in the Relief Society presidency presi-dency of West Jordan First Ward for 25 years, serving as president seven years. Mrs. Hogan was also a charter member of Archibald Gardner Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a partner in the West Jordan Cold Storage Locker Plant, which she operated for 20 years. Born August 14, 1883, in Cottonwood, Cot-tonwood, Salt Lake County, she was a daughter of Heber Kimball and Rebekah Gardner. She married Thomas Valentine Finlayson, June 20, 1906, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died May 18, 1913. She married mar-ried Donald Hogan, October 10, 1919 in the Salt Lake Temple. Survivors include her husband: three sons and four daughters, Mrs. Jesse R. (Ora) Buckley and Grandale G. Finlayson, both of West Jordan; La Verne G. Finlayson, Finlay-son, Sandy; Mrs. Elmo (Beatrice) Densley and Mrs. Gordon (Margaret) (Mar-garet) Rideout, both of Salt Lake City; Heber G. and Wilma Hogan, both of San Francisco, Calif.; five stepsons, and three stepdaughters, Mrs. Leo S. (Irene) Gardner, West Jordan; Mrs. John L. (Olive) Smith, Orem; Donald D. Hogan, Fillmore; Rulon D., Leland D. and Clyde D. Hogan, all of Stockton; Mrs. Ruth Parry, Bluffdale; Eric D. Hogan, Centerville; 49 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters, H. Allan Al-lan Gardner and W. Louis Gardner, both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Wil-lard Wil-lard (Vivian) Richardson, Mrs. Albert P. (Beatrice) Dimond and Leo V. Gardner, all of West Jordan; Jor-dan; Genevieve Gardner, Murray; Bertrund R. Gardner, Burley, Ida., and Clive D. Gardner, Midvale. Funeral services will be conducted conduc-ted feturd.-y (tomorrow) at 1:00 p.m. in the West Jordan Stake House, 7950 So. 1700 Wet, West JcrJe.i. Friends may call at the family residence, 1650 W. 7800 So. Friday (tonight) from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Interment will be in West Jordan Cemetery. |
