Show WAR DEAD TO BE HONORED MAY 25 "Honor the dead by helping the living". That's the slogan of the 1946 annual Buddy Poppy ; i sale which the Veterans of For-eign For-eign Wars of the United States i will sponsor on a nationwide ! scale the week preceding Memorial Mem-orial day, May 30. Participating in the sale will be VFW post No. 3521 here in i Bingham, of which H. K. Brown is commander. The poppies will I be offered to buyers locally May 25. The distribution of some 1000 blossoms on that day will afford men, women and children of this community an opportunity to show their gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for their country. "Every cent collected through the sale of Buddy poppies will be used in providing rehabilitation for men wounded in World War II as well as those who have fought under the Stars and Stripes Strip-es in nrpvinus wars" dimmand- . er Brown declared. "Funds from ! the sale also make possible the VFW program of assistance to veterans' dependents, their orph-ana orph-ana and widows", he added. The national goal in this 25th annual campaign is the distribu-I distribu-I tion of 16 million Buddy Poppies an all-trne record in the his-! his-! tory of the nationwide program, Commander Brown emphasized. |
