Show FORMER DENTIST i DIESSUDDENLY Charles A. Conklin, onetime Bingham dentist who gave up his practice after losing his right leg in an accident 20 years ago, was found dead on the steps of the north entrance to the. state capitol building Saturday night. Believed to have succumbed to a heart attack, Mr. Conklin's body was discovered by G. W. Lindsey. night watchman. Mr. Conklin made occasional visits to Bingham and often told the story of a derailed train's crashing into his office, killing a man and injuring himself. His home was at 61 East 33 South, Salt Lake City. He was frequently seen on Main street, his white hair, long beard and crutch hung with small purses, making him a familiar figure in downtown Salt Lake. He had eight silver dollars in his pocket and" $460 in a purse pinned to his shirt when he died. , He is believed to be survived by a son and a niece, Frances i De Mallie of Rochester, N.Y. o |
