Show J, J. BARRETT FUNERAL HELD Funeral services were held in Salt Lake City Tuesday afternoon after-noon for John J. Barrett, 59, of 196 Main street, who died July 10 at 12:15 a.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of complications following follow-ing an operation. Mr. Barrett, an employee of the Utah Copper company, was born in Athens, Ohio, May 8, 1883. He was trainmaster for the Northern Pacific railroad company com-pany from 1914 to 1921, and mov-ed mov-ed to Utah in 1923 as conductor and tram operator for the Bingham Bing-ham and Garfield railroad company. com-pany. He was a member of the Maccabees Mac-cabees and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Josephine Thomas Barrett; two sons, John E. Barrett, Salt Lake City, and Carl J. Barrett, Bingham; Bing-ham; two daughters, Mrs. E. C. Hale, Afton, Wyo.; Mrs. M. J. Hanson, Ogden; a stepdaughter, Mrs. James Casale, Beaver Dam, Va.; three stepsons, Sergeant Howard Thomas, Tampa, Fla.; Mark W. Thomas, Berkeley, Cal.; and Wilbur .Thomas, Bingham; two brothers, William Barrett, Oklahoma CityJ Okla., and Michael Mi-chael Barrett, South Bend. Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Edward Fitzgerald, Pomeroy, Ohio, and five grandchildren. grand-children. The Rev. Meredith Smith of the Community Methodist church officiated at the services.
