Show DOUBLE FUNERAL FOR MINER. WIFE. TOBEJLD TODAY; Double funeral services will be j held Friday at 3 p. m. at the Des- eret mortuary for Jeff Smith, 26, and his wife, Ruth Greenberg Smith, 23. A 300-pound rock fell from the sidewall of the Armstrong mine at Highland Boy, to kill Smith at 7 p. m. Monday. His back was fractured frac-tured and his chest crushed by the impact. Although Smith was working work-ing near several others they were unhurt. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday afternoon after-noon from a self-inflicted bullet wound in a hotel in Salt Lake City. The young couple were recently married secretly. Mr. Smith had been employed at the Armstrong mine for about a week. Smith was survived by his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Smith; two brothers. Earl and Lester Smith, and three sisters, Viola, Dorothy and Ruby Smith, all of Salt Lake City. Ruth Greenberg Smith is survived surviv-ed by her. parents, Samuel and Pauline Paul-ine Kern Greenberg, Salt Lake City; six brothers John, Leonard, Robert, Donald,' William and Ralph Greenberg, and a sister, Mildred Greenberg, all of Salt Lake. |
