The North Ogden City crew is just terrific! Where else would they care so much about the problems of plain, ordinary, insignificant people? (Unless it is in one of the other choice communities in the Beacon area.) I am so glad I live here! Sunday afternoon we were up our street up to the top of our hubcaps in snow, with no snow tires. We live on a short street without much traffic and only a few other families on it. One that could hardly be considered a major artery by any stretch of the trying to drive To make imagination matters worse, it is hilly. (Arent they all in Pleasant View and North Ogden?) Naturally, we got stuck Horrors! I thought. I could just visualize trying everyone to come up the hill to our house after my son, Ricks, missionary farewell that night. Worse would be if they all decided they couldnt make it and didnt try. What does one do with 8 platters of stale canapes, 5 gallons of punch and stacks of cookies? Thats a lot of sack lunches. In desperation, I called the city shop. I was told the city crew was having a terrible time, as 2 of their snow removal units had broken down. They were forced to concentrate on the main arteries. They were trying to give every street some help, but they just couldnt do it all. But bless their hearts, within a short time, they came and really scraped the street good and sanded the hill. We surely appreciated them! All of the people out here are just great! and The Mannings Barkers are smiling alot these days. Mike and Jann Barker Manning have a new son. They adopted him through the LDS Social Services. This is their only child. They will name him Landon1.
