Two of the Warriors coaches, Dave Brooks and Trace Deneke were asked what they expected from the Ogden Tigers in accordance with Fridays battle. Coach Brooks, who manages the defense for Weber, was cautious and respectful of the Tiger team. Ogden's been improving each year and we're expecting some kind of ball game. We know they will be running the ball, especially with the talents of Victor Jackson. They have some big people up front and are to be respected," commented Brooks. The Ogden Tigers are presently situated m Region Five of the Class division. A year ago they proved to be the surprise team of the year by barely gaining a playoff bertn and going on to win three straight playoff games. Last week the Tigers were very impressive against Bonneville one of the top teams in the state Ogden took a 3 halftime lead and stifled the Laker defense with 3-- A 6-- Jacksons 80 yard burst. Coach Trace Deneke helps guide the Weber quarterbacks, receivers, and running backs. Last season he served as an assistant coach at Ben Lomond and being in the same league as Ogden, his opinions of the Tigers are to be regarded highly. Coach Deneke stated, Ogden surprised a lot of season and will again this last people season. Eric Maughn (Tigers head coach) is to be respected. I feel the Tigers will be conservative, they are not fancy, but are a very disciplined ball club. Victor Jackson adds great Ogden strength to the backfield. doesn't make many mistakes so we must be on guard at all times." If Warrior defense is to be anything like it was in the opener against Highland, many Region One opponents as well as Ogden, will find the going rough. Talented Jackson will give the Big 'D' a big test.
