Individual Warrior Breakdown Wrestling 98 last Saturday was Song Pak who took fourth place in the event after losing his first match then gaining back to back pins and finally losing claimed--' 6, 2-- Gordon Montgomery, wrestling in the place of Tanner also took fourth. He lost then pinned, won 2 and lost Bart Bushman was the 112 bracket by forfeit. He was one of Webers two tournament 4 and champions. Bart won claimed first place when his West opponent failed to make the finals because of injury. Webers Burger did not place. His record went a pin and 4, 6-- 3. 6-- 3, 6-- 2-- 6. 0, John Rudd took third place with his record being, 2 in overtime. and Brad Story, a team captain and a senior, lost his championship bout to a West High opponent. He won his first two matches Hipwell was sick but still took ' third. The Royals results are as opponents. Royals Wrestled Too Much Riley Summers, the head coach at Roy, claims his Royals may have been too involved in and are possibly burned out. Roy has already wrestled in three tournaments and five dual meets this season. Coach Summers admits that may have been too much especially when considering some wrestlers have wrestled in 18 matches already. Coach Dan Slaugh is confident that improvement over' last Saturdays performance will follow. Danny pinned his first two opponents and won in the championship round by a whopping margin. He was also high in the balloting for the MVP award. Joe Oram came back from an opening round loss to take third place. He pinned his final two 2-- 2-- 5. 2-- 1, 3-- 4. When you eat your next meal, maybe while your juicy steak or downing your slicing into an favorite milkshake, just take a moment to honor your local wrestlers. They, re probably nibbling on some peanuts or squeezing the last drop from an orange. Why wrestlers will sacrifice three months of almost diets is a.question they themselves cant put an answer on. And on goes the sport, getting more popular with every match. Brad Story, Randy Goodell and Eric Burton are three Weber High grapplers who live through what most of us would call pure misery. They however wouldnt be caught doing anything else during their spare time in the winter months. All three are veteran Warrior wrestlers who will rfigure very .strong in Webers chances for a region championship come February. In describing the present season, Brad, a senior, reminded that last seasons squad which won the dual meet crown, was loaded with seniors while the 0 team has a strong mixture of both seniors and juniors. Goodell reported the Warriors had a positive attitude with their goals set high. At 126 12-- and 7-- 3, 2-- 6. Eric, a junior, who saw a lot of action last season was impressed with the number of powerful wrestlers the team had after losing so many last year. Story, a team captain, claims his wrestling has improved since suffering an emotional setback at the beginning of the season. In his opening match at Brighton, Brad was ahead of his opponent but rolled over on his back and was pinned. You feel stupid after something like that, said Story. Goodell was first introduced to the sport through his own father. Jay, who spent part of his youth wrestling at Box Elder High. Its my dad that has pushed me along. I owe a lot to him, said Randy. Goodell was invited to a junior high tournament in the second grade and from there his interest in the sport grew. Erics introduction to the sport came at Valley Junior High in Huntsville. Even though the program is small, it started some interest. That was enough to allow Coach Hoopes to take over and move him into the varsity line-u- p his sophomore year.
