Show ; LOCALS and ; PERSONALS Mrs. Y. A. Talbot went to Sa t Lke City Thursday afternoon to j spend the week-end. ; Mrs. Fay Bradfield is spending a few days at Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell entertained enter-tained with a chicken dinner Thursday Thurs-day for Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lewis, who left on train No. 26 for Kansas City. j I Mrs. Vic Meyers left Tuesday to spend a week at Salt Lake. j Mrs. Margaret Banks and daughters, daugh-ters, Pauline and Mary, are spending a few days visiting at Salt Lake City. ; Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. F. Goff, Mr. and Mrs. W. Rogers entertained en-tertained in honor of Ralph Cloning-er Cloning-er and Mrs. J. Hayes at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Goff. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. Firm- J age of Beaver. The evening was ' spent in dancing. Covers were laid I for sixteen. A number of readings given by Mr. Cloninger were much I enjoyed by all present. j . Friday evening Ralph Cloninger anil J.- Hayes, entertained with a i theater party at the Orpheum. Following Fol-lowing this the party motored to Beaver, where they enjoyed the dance and party given by Mr. and Mrs. W. Firmage. Those in the party from here were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goff, Wilis Rogers, C. S. Miller and C. N. Williams. The Milford Bakery is now ready. to take orders for Christmas fruit Cake. You can buy through your local groceryman. Angus Buchanan makes his weekly week-ly trips here to Milford and always brings a good report from the mines. S. Christensen and Ted Christensen of Fairview, spent Sunday with us. Mr. and Mrs. Melborn Skinner of Beaver, spent the week here. R. J. Elliott and E. L. Denny of Clear Lake, came in for the Saturday night festivities. D. R. Parker and L. M. Morris of Salt Lake and Filmore were here this week. Mildred Hutchings and Barbara Denny of Beaver, were with us this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. F. Robinson of Baker, Nevada, were here Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Stauffer of San Francisco, spent a few days with us this past week. Roy T .Cowan was calling on our merchants again this week. Hy Jenson and W. H. Cooper of Salt Lake transacted business here on Monday. C. H. Bixley made a trip to Milford on Tuesday. J. M. Grisley of Salt Lake City registered here Monday. Mr. Jess Applegate and P. H. Manors Man-ors were here for a few days recently. i Floyd DeMill of Ephriam, was here Tuesday. Frank Nelson of Ephriam, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Knapp of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Forbes of Cali-ente, Cali-ente, all visited Milford this week. C. W7. Morgan, H. H. Greenhalgh,1 and Spencer Falley of Nephi, spent Wednesday here. Jas. Rickenback of Monroe, was I here Thursday. j P. C. Madsen was here from Manti, on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. F. Schumacher came in from Garrison yesterday on business. busi-ness. Mrs. C. Hadley of Los Angeles, was here yesterday. A. C. Lunt of Salt Lake was transacting trans-acting business here yesterday. C. D. Nichelson of Gunnison was here yesterday. Richard McLaughlin Jr., an old resident of Milford, arrived in town Wednesday and intends to remain for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Clarance Lewis left Thursday for Kansas City, to spend Christmas with her parents. Mrs. Floyd Casterline returned Monday from a three-week trip with her mother, at Salt Lake City., Sirs. Ross Lang left Thursday for Salt Lake City to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. Jack Ellison and family. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Anderson left for Provo and Salt Lake Citv. Mr. Anderson returned Sunday evening and she remained until Tuesday, visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thompson are very happy over the arrival of a fine boy at their home Friday night. Mother and baby doing fine. . ! Mr. and Mrs. Chester Haskell are leaving this week on an extended auto trip to Texas, Washington, D. C, and many other places of interest. Mrs. C. W. Johnston was called to Los Angeles, Friday of last week because of the death of her aunt. Angus McLloud spent a few hours here Monday on his way from Salt Lake to visit his mother, Mrs. Jo Mathews and daughter, Mrs. Marian Kirkman at Caliente. Karl S. Carlton received the sad ; news Wednesday morning of the death of his mother, Mrs. D. D. Carl-; ton, of Indianapolis, Ind., and left the same afternoon for Ohio to at- j tend the funeral services which will I be held at Mantua, Ohio. He will re- j main for a few weeks visit with his j father and sister, Mrs. C. A. Gardner j and family of Indianapolis. His i parents spent several months here 6 ' years ago on their way from Califor- nia to make their home with their ! daughter in the east. ! i Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Litchfield, Mr. j and Mrs. Melcher and Mrs. Leonard Muir went to, Cedar City Friday of! last week to attend the wedding of Mrs. Litchfield's neice, Miss Amis Mumford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mumford, who was married to Noland Openshaw of Paragoonah. Mrs. Selona Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Sheets of Fairfield, Nebraska, arrived here Thursday of last week to visit their cousin, Mrs. Karl S. Carlton and family. They left Monday afternoon for Riverside, Cal., where they will spend the winter. John C. Carlisle, county superintendent superin-tendent of schools was here visiting the schools Tuesday, and was accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Carlisle. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith and Mrs. James Yardley of Beaver, spent Tuesday afternoon here on business. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Morgan, Mrs. Belle Reece and Mrs. Mary Tattersa'.l of Beaver, were in town Monday shopping. Mrs. Almeda Bybee, who has been visiting at South "Bend and Garrey, Illinois, all the fall, has come to stay with her son Dr. Addison Bybee and children, while Mrs. Bybee is gone to California. She left Wednesday and will spend some time there for her health. She has been very sick with rheumatism for quite a while, but is feeling better and thought the change might be a great benefit. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Skeele of Monrovia, who has been here taking care of her daughter for several weeks. |
