Show MOSCOW MINE MAKES BIG STRIKE OF HIGH GRADE What is said to be one of the most important strikes in the min- ing sections of Beaver county was encountered Wednesday of this week at the bottom of the new shaft in the Moscow mine. The Moscow is one of the best known and mostproductive properties now operating in the district southwest of. Milford. It is a dividend payer of note and is largely owned by eastern capitalists, notably the Merritts, of Duluth, Minnesota. This find of high grade lead sulphide ore in a considerable body at a depth of 1100 feet is important in many ways to the district. It will encourage others to seek the greater depths to secure the greater values. The Moscow is one of the best equipp- ed mines in this section and the new shaft and machinery required an expenditure last year of nearly $100,000. It is said that the new strike should more than pay back that amount in three months. F. V. Bodfish, a well known mine operator of Salt Lake City, happened to be at the Moscow when the strike was made. He stated to the News yesterday that if such a strike had been made in a prop- erty at Park City or Bingham or any of the better known districts, the stock of the mine would jump immediately from nothing to at least one dollar a share. |
