Show MURDOCH STUDENTS ELECT OFFICERS Primary elections were held May 4th, but very little enthusiasm was manifested. Four tickets were in the field, one of which was a suff-"ragette suff-"ragette ticket. Those who qualified qualifi-ed for the final election to be held May 11th were: President, Kenneth Barton, Meith Maeser. Vice-president, Nettie Lamreaux, Eva Bowman. Secretary and Treasurer: Edith Erickson, LaPriel White. Attorney General, Carlisle Tanner, Henrietta Gunn. Chief of Police, Dewey Hurst, Kathlyn Davis. Friday was Senior Day and the Seniors celebrated the event by selling sell-ing hot raisin pies and giving free of charge a program which was as follows: t School Song School. Welcome Grant Tolton. Vocal Solo Paul Maeser. A Dream of the Juniors Zoe Robinson. Vocal Solo Irene Baldwin. Piano Solo Catherine Bernard. Presentation of a Man to the Soph's Paul Maeser. Class Song Seniors. The senior hop was to have been held on the evening of Senior Day but as the recruits were leaving the Fourth Years to show loyalty to the nation postponed their dance until Saturday night. The details of the function were well attended to and the decorations, programs, etc, were beautiful and dainty. . The "Meteors" will come from the press this week. We are anxiously awaiting for the appearance of the book that we may compare our first efforts along this line with that of other schools. Boys are rather a scarce article at Murdock nowdays. We are twice fulfilling Scripture for there are now fourteen girls to every boy. Due to the fact that so many students stu-dents are leaving, the faculty has decided to close school a week earlier. ear-lier. , More school spirit was exhibited last Saturday afternoon than on any other occasion this year. The boys gave our "M" its annual wash and the girls prepared a delicious lunch for the hungry workers. The "M" can be seen very plainly now far down in the valley. ZOE ROBINSON. Reporter. |
