Show daughter of St. George are visiting her parents, Wells and Imelda Banks, for a few days. Marian Robinson and children chil-dren and Connie Cartwright of Beaver spent Sunday visiting visit-ing their parents, Clark and Mary Gillins. " ' Charles Jameson, Newell Carter and Lynnea Marshall sang with the Beaver Stake Choir at the St. George Temple Tem-ple Dedication, Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Solomon Solo-mon and baby of McGill,Nev. visited for a few days with their mother, Varda Solomon, Solo-mon, and other relatives. There was quite a crowd of football fans that traveled to Salt Lake Thursday to watch the game between No. Summit and Beaver. Beaver was the winner and is the 1-A Champion. Paul Marshall, the 7 year old son of Lee and Lynnea Marshall, was operated on Tuesday in the Cedar City hospital to repair a hernia. He is at home now and doing fine. Dale Christiansen visited three days with his grandparents, grand-parents, Doug and Elma Blackburn. Dale lives in Billings, Montana. Ward Conference was held Sunday in the Minersville Ward Chapel with all the Beaver Stake officers in attendance at-tendance . The conference lasted throughout the day. At the evening meeting, the speakers were Kent Marshall Marsh-all and Clarence Gillins. The Ward Choir sang "The Spirit of God Like A Fire Is Burning"; Burn-ing"; talk by Bishop Earl Limb; another song by the choir, "Before Thee Lord". The concluding speaker was Pres. Paul Neilsen. The prayers were given by Darwin Dar-win Marshall and Keith Lem -on. Ralph and June Pearson and Fay and Betty Marshall rere all in Salt Lake Friday to attend the Soil Conservation Conserva-tion Convention. Newell and Theo Marshall left Saturday for a few weeks visit with their son and wife, Joe and Doris Marshall and family, in North Platte, Nebraska. Ne-braska. Clinton and Verna Thompson Thomp-son were in Salt Lake from Thursday untilMonday visiting visit-ing at the home of their daughter and husband, Ray and Fay Willisen. They also got acquainted with their 13th great-grandchild, the grandchild grand-child of the Willisen's. Mr. and Mrs. Kendall Eyre and Mr. and Mrs. Bill(Lori) Rasmussen and daughter, all of Salt Lake, were weekend guests of their parents, Gar-old Gar-old and Marybelle Eyre. Denise Wood was home from Dixie College in St. George over the weekend visiting her parents, Vern and Florence Wood. Harold Pryor left Friday for Washington, D.C. where he will be for about six weeks. He will be there to instruct construction workers work-ers on how to operate heavy equipment. A bridal shower in honor of Donetta Carter was held Saturday afternoon at the home of DonaCarter and was given by her bridesmaids. Many lovely gifts were re- ceived by the honored guest. Games were enjoyed by all and delicious refreshments were served to those present. pres-ent. La Von and Jane Griffiths drove to Spanish Fork over the weekend to visit their daughter and husband, Keith and Laurie Griffiths. Vance Wood of Hurricane visited his parents, Floyd and Beulah Wood, over the weekend. The Literary Club held their meeting Wednesday evening at the home of Phyllis Phyl-lis Truman with Devota Hes-lington Hes-lington as co-hostess. Pres. Dorothy Wood extended a welcome to the new members mem-bers of the group. They were Theo Marshall and Blanche Pryor and Rose Mary Davie of Milford. Wednesday evening eve-ning we took a trip to Japan through the' eyes of Colleen Truman, a recent visitor to that country. She told us of their homes, dress and customs and their food. It was a very interesting trip. Delicious apple cake was served to 18 members present pres-ent by the hostess. Ed and Ethel Henrie of Panguiteh visited a few days with friends, Lorin and Lucille Lu-cille Goff and Homer and LaRue Harris. Aletha Gillins has gone to Midvale to stay with her grandchildren while their parents, Cliff andEleen Terry, Ter-ry, are on a vacation trip to the Bahama Islands. Dewayne "Bill" and Vivie Carter of Las Vegas visited Wednesday v and Thursday with their brothers and sisters. sis-ters. Monty and Joyce Iverson and children of Salt Lake were weekend visitors of their parents, Lorin and Lucille Lu-cille Goff. Mr. and Mrs. Mikey Kel-sey Kel-sey and baby are here from New York visiting with their mother, Isabell Kelsey.Mike Kelsey, Mickey's father, who has been in New York, returned re-turned to his home with them. They have all been caring for horses there and they plan on staying in this area for awhile. The Susan Camp of DUP held their meeting Friday at the home of Bernice Ashley. The lesson, "The Story of BYU and It's Presidents", was given by Virgene Jameson. Jame-son. There were seven mem -bers present. Max and Anna Rae Carter were in Salt Lake and Provo over the weekend on business busi-ness and visiting Don and Charlene Heslington in Provo. Pro-vo. Randall Banks has been in the Milford hospital for a few days receiving treatment treat-ment for burns on his leg and hands. The accident oc-cured oc-cured while he was burning leaves and when the fire got out of control his pants leg caught on fire, he burned his hands trying to put the fire out. Evelyn Banks and baby |
