'.""hMe-xr the party of your choice may be you must attend tries-! mass meetings in crdcr to have a voice in the future affairs of your party. The order of business at these mass meetings is as follows fol-lows basically. Election of a chairman, vice - chairwoman, secretary and-or treasurer for your district to handle the local affairs of the district for the next two vears. Next five County central committeemen a'-e chosen. Of these, the three dis'rM officers are generally made automatic central commit-t-.---. -n. The other two are elected from those present. These central committeemen handle the business of the party on the County level for the next two years. Next, the Cerntv delegates are chosen f'-ow those present. The num-b"v num-b"v of delegates assigned each di'-h-irt is ba-ed on the number num-ber of votes cast for the party's cni-fiiriata for Con cress at th-e last election. In our covntv. this number will vary from five to about twelve with the party in power generally bavin" bav-in" about ten in an ordinary di-trict. These County delegates dele-gates are important as they later go to the County convention conven-tion and elect a County chairmen, chair-men, vice-chairwoman, secretary, secre-tary, and treasurer. Also at Uvea convention the state delegates dele-gates who go to Salt Lake later lat-er to choose state officers are named. They in turn choose National representatives. A little later in the summer these County delegates again assemble and chose the candidates can-didates who will run on their party ticket in the primaries for the various offices both County and State which have had more than two candidates file for the same office. As can be seen from this brief outline, you must attend these local mass meetings if you wish a voice in future party affairs and a choice of who are to be your candidates for office. W. S. BOLTON. |
