' '-t . - 1 f at - V'"- - - . ------ V i Mr. and Mrs. George Ilaxter GEORGE BAXTERS TO OBSERVE SIXTIETH WEDDING DATE Mr. and Mrs. George Calvin Baxter will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on April 14th. They were married 60 years ago on that date in the Beaver County Courthouse. Mr. Baxter has been a farmer, farm-er, miner, timber boss in the Northwest, and a freighter. He hauled freight to and from Dixie in Southern Utah in the old freighting days when Milford Mil-ford was the end of the rail road; hauled supplies for the contractors who built the Minersville Min-ersville Reservoir dam, and for many years hauled ore from Marysvale. He was born Sept. 15, 1878. in St. Paul, Nebr., to Noah and Ellen McMillan Baxter. He is a member of the Methodist Church, and has been an Odd Fellow for 60 years. Mrs. Ada Bcames Baxter was born March 13, 1879, in Moul-ton, Moul-ton, Ala., to Warren and Elizabeth Eliz-abeth Jane Foote Beames. She is a member of the Methodist Church and the Rebekah j Lodge. She cam to Milford in 1903. They have two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Allen, San Cle-mente, Cle-mente, Calif., and Mrs. Gladys Moore, Rosemeade, Calif.; also three grandchildren and two great-grandchlidren. Mrs. Baxter Bax-ter also has a brother, B. T. Beames of Virgin, Utah. Friends are invited to greet the couple at an open house between 2 and 6 p. m. Sunday, April 14, at the home of a nephew, Max Baxter, 197 North 300 West Street. They request no gifts. |
