Show EASTERN STAR LADIES ENTERTAIN STATE OFFICERS Ruth Chapter No. 6, Order of the Eastern Star, welcomed the officers of the Grand Chapter Chap-ter of Utah on Friday, April 17, in the Masonic Temple. Presiding over the meeting were Mrs. Alice Elmer, worthy wor-thy Matron, and M. H. Pool, worthy patron. Grand Officers present were Mrs. Clarissa B. Lowry, worthy wor-thy grand matron; William Ray West, worthy grand patron; Mrs. Lois M. Ross, associate grand matron; George Smith, associate grand patron; Mrs. Grace C. Parker, grand secretary; secre-tary; Mrs. Edna E. Staten, grand treasurer; Mrs. Lillian H. Gallagher, grand conduct-dress; conduct-dress; Mrs. Rosamond R. Den-man, Den-man, associate grand conductress; conduct-ress; Mrs. Marcella C. Finlay, grand chaplain; Mrs. Jane A. Gordon, grand marshal; Mrs. Lois Ryan, grand organist; organ-ist; Mrs. Kay H. Riley, grand Adah; Mrs. Ella Gregg, grand Ruth; Mrs. Edna Gardner, grand Esther; Mrs. Arlene Gray, grand Martha; Mrs. Geraldine Ger-aldine Gooding, grand Electa; Mrs. Helen West, grand warder; ward-er; and Gustin O. Gooding, grand sentinel. Seven Past Grand Matrons and Past Grand Patrons attended, at-tended, also four Grand Representatives. Rep-resentatives. Fifteen Chapters were represented. Hugh Riley, Most Worshipful Grand Master, Free and Accepted Ac-cepted Masons of Utah, also attended. The worthy grand matron spoke on "The Wonder of Life," and the worthy grand patron's message was "The Foundations of Freedom." Eighty members were in attendance at-tendance and, following the meeting, were served a deli-cios deli-cios buffet supper. Heading the refreshment committee were Mrs. Beniti Burke and Mrs. Dorothy Gale. They were assisted by Mrs: Vera Bei'tz, Mrs. Marian Miller, Mrs. Gladys Bush and Mrs. Virginia Bedingfield. The tables were beautifully decorated by Mrs. Alice Elmer and Mrs. Rosalie Cook. |
