Show SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR KIM BIRD, VIET NAM CASUALTY Funeral services for Kim S. Bird, 21, were conducted last Tuesday afternoon in the Milford Mil-ford L. D. S. Chapel. Pfc Bird was killed in action in the war in Viet Nam. He was the first Viet Nam casualty from Milford, and the 13th from the state of Utah. The services were as follows: fol-lows: Prayer at the mortuary, preceding pre-ceding the services, Bishop Richard Leon Jones. Prelude and postlude music, Mrs. Edna Nichols. Invocation, Doug Killam. Vocal trio, "In the Garden," Mrs. Josephine Killam, Mrs. Jerrie Kirk and Mrs. Bonnie Easton, accompanied by Mrs. Beth Edwards. Obituary, Jesse Long. Speaker, Bishop Edgar C. Edwards. Remarks, Robert Tomsik. Vocal duet, "Whispering Hope," Mrs. Shirleen Barnes and Mrs. Ramona Smith, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Marjorie Mecham. Benediction, Roger Myers. The grave in the Milford City Cemetery was dedicated by Shirl W. Nichols. Full military honors were conferred by Milford Post No. 3 6, The American Legion, assisted as-sisted by Maior Don Odegard cf the U. S. Army. Pallbearers were Bob Rollins, Charles Williams, Mike Hanlpy, John Jimenez, Doug Killam and Gary Applegate. Kim S. Bird was bor:v Aug. 13, 1945. in Salt Lake City, to Floyd Franklin and Ann Sov-ereen Sov-ereen Bird. He graduated from Milford High School in 19C4, and enlisted en-listed in the U S Army Nov. 17, 1965. Alter completing basic training, he was attached to C Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Artillery of the 4th Infantry In-fantry Division. He arrived in Viet Nam about August 1. Previous to entering military service, he had been n service station attendant, and had been employed by the Union Pacific Railroad. Surviving are his parents; brothers and a sister. Barry V.
