ALEX HAMILTON DIES IN SALT LAKE A. R. (Alex) Hamilton, 71, prominent Beaver County banker bank-er rwho resided in Salt Lake, died Monday afternoon in a Salt Lake hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1895, in Bulch, South Wales, to Henry and Bridget Jones Reed. He was adopted by Elizabeth Hamilton. He came to the United States in 1903 and engaged in the meat packing and livestock live-stock business in Beaver. He bought the assets of the old Beaver unit bank in 1935, and established a branch of the Milford State Bank at Beaver. He had been a director direct-or and vice president of the Milford State Bank and Beaver Beav-er City Branch for a number of years. He was a past grand master of the I O O F Grand Lodge and past noble grand of the Beaver IOOF Lodge, and he was active in the Beaver Wildlife Wild-life Club, and in the Beaver County ' Republican Party. He married Mittie Barnett, Aug. 3, 1916, in Beaver. She died in 1934. He married Clea Taylor, June 13, 1944, in Salt Lake. Surviing are his widow; and daughters Mrs. James F. (Emma (Em-ma Lou) Cooper, Mrs. Kenneth R. (Barbara) Gempeler, both of Salt Lake; four grandchildren; grandchil-dren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Emma Lovekind, Bancroft. Idaho; Bessie Hamilton, Las Vegas; Harry Reed, Leonard Reed, David Reed and Mrs. i'mma .Williams, all of Great Britain. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Thursday in Salt Lake. |
