Show Services Held for Mrs. Clara Willden Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Ellen (Nell) Willden, 82, who died last Sunday at her home in Beaver of causes incident to age, were held Feb. 7 in the Beaver Second LDS Ward Chapel. Prelude and postlude music were piayed on the organ by Mrs. Kate Joseph. The prayer at the home, preceding pre-ceding the services, was offered by Albert T. Smith. The invocation invoca-tion was by Arlo Messinger: Bishop Grant Esplin was in charge of the services, which were as follows: Male quartet, Kent Hansen,! Sherman Carter, Kenneth Williams Wil-liams and Hal Lund, sang "I Need Thee Every Hour," accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Mary Jane Seaman. Sea-man. Walter Joseph gave the obitu-j ary and life history of the deceased. de-ceased. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Smith sang "That Wonderful Mother of Mine." A. Carlos Murdock told of the large family from which she came and how they had been ! stalwarts of the community in i the social, religious and financial finan-cial building way. A ladies' trio, Mrs. Lucille B. Murdock, Mrs. Carol Carter and Mrs. Nell Smith, sang "One Fleeting Hour," accompanied by Mrs. Seaman. Bishop Esplin made appropriate appropri-ate remarks, and the benediction was pronounced by Bishop Clark Smith. The grave in Mountain View Cemetery was dedicated by Bishop Bish-op Wesley W. Farrer. Pallbearers were Don Harris, Wilford Robinson, Albert T. Smith, Glenn Gillies, Joe Willden and Ross Smith. The flowers were cared for by neighbors of Mrs. Willden, with Mrs. Thora Beeson in charge. Out of town relatives attending included Mrs. Richard Gillies, Mrs. Jennie Martin, Mrs. Lettie Fotheringham, Mrs. Harold Gale, Nile Willden, Wilford Robinson, Mrs. Mettie Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. David Willden, Mr. and Mrs. LaFaunce Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. William Dover, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ashworth. Mrs. Clara Ellen Willden was born Nov. 11, 1878, in Beaver, to John and Margaret Patterson Smith. She was educated in the Beaver schools and married Fergus Fer-gus Willden, May 8, 1915. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Mr. Willden died in 1947. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Surviving are her son LaVar, six grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. |
