Show j KILLED IN PLANE CRASH I ,'x ;' ' 1 ' ' :: . . .. , f . ..... , . : . ' Robert C. Glsnn j Robert C. Glenn Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Airman Air-man 2c Robert C. Glenn, 19, who was killed in a plane crash in Alaska, Thursday, Jan. 17. Richard Banks LDS First Ward bishop, was in charge of the services, and Milford Post No'. 16, American Legion, conferred con-ferred military honors. Rev. Lillian M. Nelson, Mil ford Methodist Church pastor, gave the invocation, and LaMar Grimshaw the benediction. Musical numbers were a vocal solo by Mrs. Kathryn Whittaker accompanied by Mrs. Fonda Magill, and a vocal duet by Mrs. Ramona Smith and Mrs. Jerry Kirk, accompanied by Homer Christiansen. D. C. Edwards of Milford was the speaker. ' Bishop Banks dedicated the grave, in the .Milford Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Kil-lam, Kil-lam, Gary Bedingfield, Karl Merryweather, Boyd White, Neil Smyth and Wade Meadows. Serving on the Legion Firing squad, under command of John L. Grimshaw, were J. A Kirk, J. H. Davis, J. W. Smith, R. S. Davis, W. B. Johnson and R. L. Carter. Gerald Hickman was the bugler, and the Color Guards and Color Bearers, under command com-mand of Post Commander Ray Walker, were Clayton Moser, R: T. Slinkerd, J. E. Easton, N. B. Smith and R. G. Brox. The Milford High School band drum and bugle section, playing a military drum cadence, ca-dence, led the funeral procession from the chapel to the cemetery, ceme-tery, under direction of Jesse Long. Robert C. Glenn was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Milford, a son of David P. and Delia McDonald Glenn. At Milford High School he was active on the yearbook staff, and was a member of the j football and basketball teams. ! He was graduated in 1955, and in June of that year enlisted enlist-ed in the U S Air Force. He re ce-ived his basic training at Parks Air Force, Calif., and ad- vanced specialist training at ' Biloxi, Miss. In April, 1956, he was assigned to Alaska duty as a radio operator. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, Donald, ,of Milford; Bruce, oi Rock Springs, Wyo., and James A. Glenn, Kearns, Utah. |
