Show fe Mine grabs M4 fknteirille win Al Marshall's Dlue Machine Ma-chine came up with a key victory over Grantsville last Wednesday, 20-0, giving the Beavers some valuable needed confidence before their final two games of the regular season. Grantsville, a 2 -A opponent, oppon-ent, fell to a fired up Beaver Beav-er defense and offense behind be-hind Don Roberts, Eric Dot-son, Dot-son, Chris Branvall, Steve Hutchings, Scott Stuckl and Robbie Eyre on offense, and Don Roberts, Alan Smith, Dave Eyre, Scott Yardley on defense. D. Roberts opened the Beaver scoring attack with a 6 yard run after Stuckl Intercepted a Cowboy pass, returning the ball to the 6 yard line. Eric Dotson rambled for two TD's and 124 yards for the encounter, grabbing a 12 yard score in the second quarter and a 21 yard score in the fourth period. The most impressive drive the Beavers have put together during the season -culminated with Dotson's paydirt scamper after 11 plays and 99 yards. Scott Yardley snagged a Grantsville Grants-ville pass on the Beaver one foot line and Hutchings followed with a selection of running and passing plays that gave the Beaver offen -se some life and continuity. The big question arises how well the Beavers will carry the load in the final two league games with Paro-wan Paro-wan and North Sevier. If history repeats itself, the Rams should be a powerful power-ful opponent for the Beavers tonight, but North Sevier would like to erase the humiliation hu-miliation of the 44-0 route from the first game of the season with the Beavers. If Milford can put it together to-gether tonight against Kanab the Tigers could force a three way tie for the Region Re-gion 12 first place' spot, but if the Tigers are knocked knock-ed off, the loss would move them to third, leave Beaver in second, and Kanab in first. The Cowboys suffered their first loss of the season sea-son last week against Page, Arizona, a much larger school, while the Tigers were idle last week. |
