Jefferson would like at this time to announce my Official Ballot for Milford City, Utah November 4, 1997 Recorder INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: To vote for a candidate, place a cross (X) in the square following the name($) of the person(s) you favor as the candidate(s) for each respective office. Vote For One (1) FOR MAYOR Four Year Term intention to be a Write in Candidate for Mayor of Milford City. I was born in the old Hospital (here in Milford, UT.) Oct. 7, 1953 to George Richard & Earlene Jefferson and have been a resident on and off for 44 years now. My family has a long and distinguished history of Public Service, going way back down the tree, but more recently; my grandfather George Jefferson served two terms in the Utah State Senate. My father George Richard Jefferson served four terms as Beaver County Commissioner. I myself have never served in a publicly elected office, but I have served as chairman of Planning & Zoning for over 3 years. I also served as Secretary and Treasurer for two years and President for three years of the Milford Wildlife Association. So, I am not afraid to commit to a cause and stick with it. As your mayor there are a number of things I would like to see happen in Milford on a city level. 1. The City office should be open until 5:00 p.m. to better serve the people. 2. No more streets will be paved that don't have people living on them and no more valley gutters that can swallow a small car. 3. The conditional use permit on the trailer court north of town and the trailer court on 100 West 400 South will be pulled and revisited where and if there is the property owners will be notified of their and fined or closed until compliance is met. 4. The local news will be readmitted access to city business and non-complia- non-complian- MARY G. WISEMAH- - Vote For Two (2) FOR COUNCILMEMBER Four Year Term RHODA A. BROWNER NOLAN C. Milford High School Auditorium PWPotiein nce ce publication, because only informed people are truly free people! If the council resists I will produce my own news letter on city business according to how I see it. Look out Rush Limbaugh, this might be fun! 5. I will restrict the use of executive session to only the tightest interpretation of the law. And where it is felt there is a conflict of interest I will point it out for the record and tell them let you conscience be you guide, vote as you must. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. 6. All contracts and retainers with those providing professional and or technical service will be reviewed and renegotiated or terminated where possible. 7. The idea of a Bag Tax will be renewed so the wages of people working here but not living here can be taxed for services used and the monies used to offset the current tax load on residents. 8. The problem over Special Service District in the Lewis Addition should never have happened. Yes, the city did accept it as is, but they can still require Developer Builders to make certain improvements before permits are final and occupation begins. This wasn't done. Now look at the mess. No longer will developers, Industry or other Special Interest people have Carte Blanc at tax payers expense. Many people will say I'm anti Circle Four. To the contrary. I welcome the jobs and development. But at what price, and who's responsibility? If our ground water gets polluted, who's going to pay for a filter system that doesn't presently exist? Imagine how high our water bills will be then? You won't pay it on a fixed income. I believe Circle Four should be liable for any and all damage they do to our water, air, and quality of life and should as good neighbors and people who believe in what they are doing, post bond sufficient enough to relieve our fears. Some have said, "Brad cut your hair and shave. You'll stand a better chance of winning." to this I say, "Thanks for the advice. But anyone who is put off by my appearance will still have that image in their head." One more self interested bigot is not what we need in city government. But if you think we need someone to stand in for regular citizens of Milford, someone who's not afraid to call Bulldung or Hogwash when they smell it, some one who's not impressed with talk of money and legal verbiage, not afraid to ask questions, and to demand a satisfactory answer, then I am your man. Please write in Bradley D. Jefferson for Milford City Mayor. I know it's a long shot but you deserve a choice! If you don't like what's going on in our city government, and would like to register your vote of dissatisfaction, If you want to tell Mary Wiseman & Co., that not everyone in Milford suffers from Anosmia (Clinical term for inability to smell). Then a vote for mer is a vote of no confidence in the present administration and a message that not everyone supports their point of view. Above all please get out and vote. Respectfully, Bradley D. Jefferson Piid for by Brad Jefferson and the citizens committee for the preservation of diverse opinion.
