The ward banquet and program, which was held Friday evening, was very well attended. A delicious hot chicken supper prepared by the Relief Society ladies, was served at 3 by a very interesting p. m., followed program, under the auspicies of the Sunday School officers. Those from other wards who helped make the program a success were Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Beckstead of Tremonton, the Misses Zola and Jean Christensen of Tremonton, and Master Max Thompson, accompanied by his mother, lira Eldon Thompson of Elwood. The meeting Sunday evening was conducted by Scoutmaster and Quorum leader, Gerald Tolman. Deacon president, Kay Borgstrom, read the program. Individual quorum awards and Tenderfoot Scout badges were awarded by Gerald Tolman. Alma Anderson Evan gave a reading; Christensen rendered a comet solo, and Alma King of Garland was the principal speaker. S EAST I GARLAND f ? We HOLT FAMILY OBSERVES , BIRTHDAYS A birthday dinner was held Friday for Mrs. Earl J. Holt and son, Mervin E. Holt and Mrs. George Coombs and son George Coombs, Jr., all of whose birthdays were celebrated. The latter was unable to attend, however, as he was out of the state. The dinner was held at the home of Mr. Holt in Field- LOCAL NEWS Mrs. Merwin Christensen entertained Friday evening at a birthday party in honor of her husband. Luncheon was served cafeteria style to 19 of her brothers and sisters. Mrs. M. S. Hamilton was happy to have on Wednesday, visitors from Wyoming, who were her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Jenkins, her sister, Elmira Haderlie, and a brother, Erwin. ing. Among the thirteen guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stokes of Ogden. $ GIRLS INITIATE NEW MEMBERS Five newly elected members were hostesses to approximately fifteen Oma Mega Chi girls at a party held last Thursday evening at the Utah Power & Light Co. auditorium. The girls plaved several games and were served delightful refreshments. Miss Maureen Potter, an old member recently of Salt Lake City, was a special guest. The party was an initiation for Misses Floy Christensen, DeNae Johnson, Delphia Bunderson, Iva Lou Smith and Lueen Burns. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hunsaker and small children, of Caldwell, Idaho, have been visitors at the Ervin Miller home. A. L. Madsen visited over the weekend at Rupert and Burley with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Stokes. Mrs. Ellen Bride returned to her home in Downey, Idaho Tuesday, after spending a few days with her aunt, Mrs. Augusta Stenquist. Mass Meril Miller spnt last week end with hVr parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Miller. She was entertained by the family at a bithday dinner in her honor. Mi s. Ry-ma- day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Stanfill were Ogden fisitors Tuesday. Carl Nelson visited in Willard on Sunday with his daughter, Mrs. George Hewlett. Mr. and Mrs. Joseh Laws, of Malad, Idaho, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Engvar Petersen. Mr .and Mrs. J. B. Shuman, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Shuman and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Petersen attended the Sugar Dance at Crystal Springs, after which they enjoyed a midnight supper at the Petersen home. & Mis. Orville D.
