C, Iverson was affiliated with Alpha Sigma Nu, honorary fraternity for twelve senior students chosen on scholarship-activity basis; Blue Key, national honorary service fraternity for male students; Pi Gamma Mu, honorary social science fraternity; Fourth Estaters, honorary journalistic club; and the Agora club, honorary forensic society. During his senior year at the college, Iverson fw.as chosen a member of Who's Who Among American University and College Students. I John Selman and family Members of the O. Dalton family held a reunion at Crystal Springs Sunday. .Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dalton of Tremonton were present with other members of the family. Mr. Dalton's sister, Mrs. Frank Gross, of Spokanne, came for the occasion. The group motored to Idaho Falls, Idaho on Monday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dalton who were unable to attend the reunion because of the departure of their son, Jack, for the armed forces. -- 4 Miss Marjorie Hansen left last week for Baltimore, where she plans to visit with her brother, Jay Hansen, who is studying medicine there. She stopped at Chicago and visited with a friend, Rachel B. James and expects to spend the summer in Chicago at Northwestern University, after her visit in the east. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Henrie, of Malad, visited in Tremonton j Mrs. Jack Leak went with Mrs. Perry Stanfill Monday to take her daughter, Sherma Stanfill, to Logan, where she will attend the summer quarter at the U. S. A. C. Sherma will also be in charge of the Central playground at Logan for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Johnson of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend here visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Miller's daughter, Jeniel Butler, also spent the weekend here. Mrs. Ersol Berchtold entertained Friday in honor of her son, Joe's birthday. Among those present were Joseph Berchtold and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Young and family of Brigham City, and Mrs. TJ. M. Grover and son. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Grover visited Friday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Grover. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Johnson and daughter, Dixie Sue, of Promontory, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Miller visited Saturday with Mr. and airs. Oliver Johnson in Deweyville. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelsen Verlene, visited with Corp. Emery Nelsen at the Bushnell Hospital Saturday. They report that Corp. Nelsen's condition is improving. A patriotic program was sponsored Sunday evening by the Remembrance committee of which Mrs. .Wilford Miller is the head. The Flag Day services, under the direction of the M. I. A. Scouts consisted of musical numbers, solos by little Bobby Berchtold, Leon Miller, and Bebe Okada, and a duet by Marie Petersen and Leone Miller. Speakers were Lieut. George Marsh, Ersol Berchtold, Scout Master, and Wilford Miller. The lowering of the flag at sunset was by the Scouts. Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Lewis visited Saturday with Mrs. Sarah Shuman Mr. Lewis left Saturday evening to join the armed forces. Mr. and Mrs. George Comble were Sunday guests of Mrs. Engvar Petersen at a chicken dinner. Mr. .and Mrs. Lawrence Petersen and daughter, Fay, and Mrs. J. B. Shuman and daughter Lorna, went to Brigham Tuesday. Fay and Lorna remained to visit for a few days. Mrs. Engvar Petersen was in Brigham Tuesday to bring Mr. Petersen home. Though he is still very ill, we are glad that he is wll enough to be home. Mrs. Veda Smith accompanied them home. . .Bishop Fred L. Petersen, of Brigham City, brought his son, Verl, out Friday to say goodbye to his relatives and friends here before reporting for duty at Camp Kearns. The meeting was called to order by President Leola Koford. The song wa3 by Frances Hunsaker and the lesson was given by Leader Hazel Koford. Mrs. Hunsaker gave a demonstration on muffins, after which all the girls made four kinds. Cookies and punch were served. The. next meeting is to be held at the home of Dot Kay. Mrs. Schenkel has spent the past week in Salt Lake w ith her mother. Mrs. Bee be was born January 5, 1866, in Rockville, and had lived in Salt Lake for the past 41 years. Surviving besides Mrs. Schenkel are the following daughters: Mrs. G. II. Marshall, Mrs. William C. Lloyd, Mrs. E. Ft. Nash, Mrs. A. Albert, all of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Emil Brunner of Spokanne; one son, Earl Beebe, of Oakland, California; 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
