A 125 to 175 feet in 8 to 12 sec- Q ' Superiority (By Don Adams) "It looks as if the Bears will win a few games this season," stated Coach Carl Smith during a pep talk on the football field yesterday. But he also stated that the game with South Cache Friday will not be as easy a task as the team had expected. The Spartans eleven, on an average, will run about 140 pounds, while the Bears will average 158 pounds; but the old saying still holds, "the bigger they are, the harder they fall" warned Coach Smith. South Cache, like Bear River, has a new coach, also from the U. S. A. C. This doesn't necessarily mean the two teams will use the same system, or does it? This will probably remain a secret until the game has started. Under Cliff Poole, the new coach, the Spartans have shown a certain amount of promise with Dan Long, their star end and captain. of either team As yet the line-u- p is not known, but in all possibilities Roy Oyler will match wits with Barnard White from South Cache, These two men will probably play quarterbacks. Don Hansen and Max Tanner are likely to play ends for the Bears while Kay Alder and Dang Lang will start for South Cache. Playing tackles for Bear River we may see Reed Lar-se- n and Howard Peterson playing face to face with Holt Kelly and Dean Campbell, a pair of tackles belonging to the Spartans. On guard you will probably see Oleen Udy and Alf White sparring against Clin Ciralitree and Russel Maughan. It looks as if Con Steffin or Smith Ward will have to put up with Clayton Allen as center from South Cache, while Bob Wnizler will be playing in the same position as Milton Nelson as full back. Claln Snow and Jake Woerner may be fighting it out with Clyde Larsen and Gene Glen from the Spartan team in half back position. onds. Why are black letters combin ed with a yellow background on caution, slow and stop signs? A Because this color combination is visible for greater distance than any other color combinations. 3 - Q At what distances are letters on traffic signs designed to be read? Fifty feet for each one inch of letter height. Four inch letters are designed to be read at 200 feet. 4 Q Does the shape of a traffic sign have any significance? A Yes. Round signs indicate a railroad crossing, eight sided signs mean stop, square signs mean caution, diamond signs mean slow, and upright oblong signs are regulatory in nature. 5 Q What is a traffic actuated 2 VOTE FOR Philo T.
