Carly Suzanne Leishman, age 15, daughter of Todd and Cindy Leishman of Alpine, received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award on April 27, 2(X)8. She is a member of the Alpine 9th Ward, Alpine Stake. Carly has truly valued her personal per-sonal progress experiences. For one of her projects, she worked for a neighbor who suddenly lost his sight as an adult. She read his mail to him and read txx)ks to him. She was his personal secretary He had to trust her completely to do the things he needed because he could not see. She learned a great deal about integrity from this experience. Carly also learned a lot about good works as she prepared dinner din-ner for her family of nine once a week. She chose the meal to prepare, pre-pare, gathered the ingredients and cooked dinner so her family could enjoy'eating together. Carly also diligently practiced a piano piece so she could accompany a group of girls to sing in church. Carly is a joy to be around. Her family is confident she will continue con-tinue to make good choices and stand for truth and righteousness. " ' The prospective groom is a - graduate of Lone Peak High Tyler Golden Travis demons Troop 1 165 of the Boy Scouts of America, sponsored by the Highland Utah 22nd Ward, congratulates con-gratulates (L-R) Tyler Golden and Travis demons on their attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. For Tyler's Eagle Project he installed 80 shelving units in a couple of rooms at American Fork Jr. High. These shelves hold around 5(K)0 text books and allow the teachers and students easier access to the bcxks. Over fifty people helped put the shelves together and then transported the books to their new home. For Travis's Eagle Scout Project, Proj-ect, he beautified the muddy area around the American Fork Jr. High School's outd(xr lunch area. The project included the removal of 700 sq ft of sod, planting a variety va-riety of large shrubs, flowers, and ground cover, large landscaping boulders, and the widening of the sidewalk in that area. An Eagle Court of Honor will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Highland Lars-en Lars-en Park building on the corner of 9600 N. 6000 W Highland. Jacobsen Air Force Reserve Airman Dmitri Dmi-tri A. Jacobsen has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force missioa organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony ; marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special train-ing train-ing in human relations. He is the son of Kent Jacobsen of Lehi. Jacob-sen Jacob-sen is a 2003 graduate of Springville High School.
