Music will be furnished by the school orchestra. The major part of the evening- will feature a panel discussion by students from the school. -They will dis cuss problems of the under achieved. A large number of the students are hot achieving as well as they could. The dis cussion will Involve reasons for this Involving the home, school and students. The panel will be moderated by the school counselors. Parents are urged to give their cooperation to the P-TAJn order to help the child. All are Invit ed to attend this Important meeting.. W.B.B.A. to Hold r Election of Officers The' American-League of the Western Boys Baseball of Am erican, Fork will hold a' meet- Mrs. Richard K. Olson Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Scholes of' The Dalles, Oregon, and formerly of this city are announcing an-nouncing the marriage of their daughter, 'Ellen, to Richard K. Olson. Richard is the son of Mr and Mrs. John Olson of American Fork. . They were married Saturday, January 6. Ellen Is a" graduate of the American Fork Seminary and American Fork High School. She was a leader in school affairs, serving as a class officer during both her junior and senior years. She was affiliated with Pep Club, Beethoven Club' OAA., Thespians, N.F.L. and ladles chorus. She was an honor student stu-dent and was very talented musically. mus-ically. She has attended B.Y.U., US.U., and the University of Utah for a total of three years with a major in foreign-languages. She has been residing with her family in Oregon since October. Richard is a 1954 Seminary graduate, and was graduated from American Fork High School in- 1955. He has served for four years in the VS. Air Force, where he acted as radio operator on a refueling plane. ' He has since been employed by Terry's Texaco service station, and has attended the Central Utah Vocational Vo-cational School for two years At the. present he is employed at Hercules Powder Co. as a quality control technician. The newlyweds will be honor' ed at an informal openhouse Thursday, January 18, at the home of the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Scholes at 109 South 3rd East, American Fork. The bride and groom, accompanied by their parents, will be on hand to greet their friends and relatives from 8 to 10 pjn. , r I try all things; I achieve what I can. White Brazil Nut Fruit Cake . 1 cup shortening 1, teaspoon baking powder .1 cup sugar ....... . Vi teaspoon salt 5 eggs 2 cups coarsely chopped , Vx teaspoons grated lemon Brazil nuts rind VA cups mixed candied frjit 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 Va cups candied cherries 2 cups sifted all-purpose 1 cup white raisins flour, divided . Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, creaming thoroughly. Beat in eggs one at a time; blend until smooth. Stir in lemon rind and iuioe. Sift together 2 cups of the flour, baking powder and salt . Gradually stir into creamed mixture. Toss Brazil nuts and f 'lit . fa remaining 14 cup flour, fold into batter.
