Is the number per child or for a group of children? chil-dren? I'm not sure, but I know in our home it is per child. That means I have four children that can talk, so I must be hearing this sweet word "mom" at least 240 times an hour. Some days I am sure it is closer to 400 times an hour. I always know that summer is fast approaching when the There are ways to keep your children from using any alcohol. They all start with you. "Mom, can I, can I, can I...?" I try to remember that one day I am going to miss hearing hear-ing this word "mom" so much, but as for today, I am trying to figure out a way to answer so many questions in a patient and loving manner. I am also trying to find a way to keep our children happy all summer. Our children's idea of a happy summer would be running the neighborhood, watching television, or playing video games all day long. My idea of a happy summer is to keep their reading levels at the grade level where they should be, do a little swimming, visit a beach, and maybe hit a parade PARENTS EMPOWERED 5poniored by The Utah Deportment of Alcoholic Destry Charles Destry Charles Hobbs (Dez), age 43, passed away on May 25, 2(K)8. He was born on January 5, 1965 In Murray, Mur-ray, Utah, the son of Charles Jesse Hobbs and Marilee Turner. He married the girl of V v his dreams, Deanne Hansen on August 22, 1985. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 21, 1991 and their marriage lasted for 23 happy years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting and camping. camp-ing. It was especially meaningful because his family always joined in the fun (including Buck the family dog). He was a loving husband hus-band and father who always took the time to teach and have fun with his children. He wasn't afraid of hard work even from a young age. He has been employed at Fetzers Inc. for nearly all of his life-long career. He devoted many long hours to the success of the company and built many lasting friendships. He served in many church callings call-ings including Elders Quorum and or two. But most of all I would like to keep our children and the neighborhood children happy hap-py with food. We need to meet in the middle somewhere. I will keep my open-pantry policy for our children and the neighbor children as well. This means that anyone that walks through our door is welcome to anything in the pantry, without with-out asking. This keeps our kids in our home, and helps to bribe our children's friends to have the desire to hang out in our home as well. This is comforting to me. I feel it is important to know our children's friends, and to know our children the best I can. I will also keep my cookin' place hot and try to have a delicious deli-cious snack or meal waiting whenever possible. (And if their mouths are full, they can't say mom quite as much!) I am sure I will hear the word mom more than ever in the next week. The first week of summer is difficult. It is finding the boundary of what the kids can do, and how far the limits can be pushed. I will try to have a special lunch waiting that last day of school when our kids come home from school. It will be the first day of summer in our home, and I am sure after they spend that last hour in school, the first thing I will hear as they walk through the door will be "Mom, what's for lunch?" So, I will prepare now and have a plan. I will have v It Marks High-Pressure Underground Natural Gas Lines of Questar Gas Company. CALL BEFORE YOU DIG.
