Jimmy E. Thompson, has gone on to play heavens fairways. He dted in American Fork on Saturday, April 22, 2006. The son of James Alexander Alexan-der and Ade Mae May Simpson Simp-son Thompson, Jimmy was bom January Janu-ary 19. 1919, in Houston, Texas. Asa - ft r: child in Wichita Falls and Oklahoma Cry, Jimmy chd not like golf until he tennis partner, Johnny Stammer, insisted that Jimmy Jim-my try to caddy at the age of twelve. As a caddy. Jimmy' fell n love with the game of golf that Iwe lasted a bfetane. At age thirteen, after his parent's divorce, Jimmy lived at the Wood-lawn Wood-lawn Gotf Course under the watchful eyes of professionals Floyd Farley and Charley Wesner. As a 17 year old. Jet shot nine under par. 6L on the Woodlawn course; and as a senior, he won all the high school tournaments that included teams from Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. Arkan-sas. Jimmy always enjoyed competition competi-tion and had his share of wins" that included playing Ryder Cup players Alf Padgham and Sam King of England Eng-land while serving in the Air Force during World War II. He and his partner, Frank Oxmad. never lost a Red Cross fund-raising exhibition match while overseas. When Jimmy returned to the states, he played the PGA Tour irtermirtentfy during the I940's and full time in 1952 win a sooring average of 7292. September 2. L945. Jimmy married the finest woman any man could want. Helen 1 Lee Aldus Brown lee Aldus Brown, 70, left mortality mortal-ity on April 23, 2006, as a result of an accident. Lee was born on October Oc-tober 23, 1935, in Orem. Utah, to Archie and Emily Brown. Lee was raised in Orem and graduated from Lincoln High School He served a mission to the British Isles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission Lee served two years in the United States Army. Lee married Judy West December 14. 1961. m the Salt Lake Temple, and they were blessed with four children. Lee worked for Niels Fugal Company and the LDS Church. He had also learned to be an electrician and wired houses on occasion. Lee loved working in the garden and w xh animals on his farm. He was a handyman who always seemed to be able to solve any problem. Together, the Thompsons enjoyed working at many courses: Muskogee Country dub, Oklahoma, Shawnee Counry dub, Oklahoma; Lakewood Country Chib. Long Beach, California; Timpanogos Tim-panogos Golf Course, Provo. Utah; Stockdale Country dub, Bakersfieki, California; Rancho Park Golf Course, Los Angeles, California; Valencia Golf Course, Valencia. California; Los Coyotes Country Club, Beaumont, Beau-mont, California; and TriQty Golf Course, American Fork, Utah. If any of these courses had been open 24 hours, Jimmy would have been there -he loved his work and the people he met. Always involved with the business matters of the national and sectional bodies of the PGA. Jet attended 22 national conventions; some of his suggestions are still in effect today. A lifetime member of the PGA (65 years in July), one of Golf Digest's top 100 Teaching FTofessionals, a UGA GJd Card reapiert, and a member of Utah's Golf Hall of Fame, Jimmy has always been known as the "pro's pro".
