Family and friends are invited to an open house on Monday, May 1, 2006 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Senior Citizen Center, 242 West 200 South. Elna was a child of the depression depres-sion years. Born May 2, 1926 to Thomas and Charlotte Loveland. In 1934 they moved to Provo, where she grew up in Loveland's Drive-in Market. She graduated from Provo High School and remembers the first troop train that pulled out of the Provo station. On May 2, 1947 she married her beloved "honey" Nephi W. Burgener Bur-gener in the Sah Lake Temple. Elna worked for Community Action as the second hired Outreach worker in Utah County for 20 years. She loved all the people she met. After she retired she went to help around the Pleasant Grove Senior Citizen Center and ended up as assistant director to Ruth Hassenf ritz which she says "has been a wonderful journey." Her philosophy is "enjoy today tomorrow may be to hard to adjust to." She's been there, done that and only has one regret that she didn't express her feelings more even if they were not the most popular. Come help her celebrate. No gifts, but please bring or send fond memories. Matthew Peterson Matthew Peterson, 18, has earned his Eagle Scout Award. He is a member of Troop 1046 of the Cedar Pass 9th Ward.
