Main concentrations are found within urban areas along the Wasatch Front, east into the Uintah Basin, and southeast into the Carbon and Emery county areas. If hunting adjacent to urban areas, hunters should contact local authorities to determine regulations governing the discharge of firearms. California quail populations appear to be up this year. Recent and ongoing transplants of California quail from the Wasatch Front to suitable habitats in outlying areas are responsible for quail being seen by hunters in new areas. Duchesne, Uintah, Iron, Sevier and Emery counties are traditionally the best areas to hunt. Northern Region: Urban populations. Forests interspersed with aspen and alder are home to snowshoe hares. When snow falls, hares turn completely white except for their eyes, which remain coal black. Look for movement at the base of trees and shrubs to locate hares when snow has covered the ground. Hare populations are up throughout much of their range in Utah. Hunter pressure is very light. This potential problem refers to possible computer failures because of their inability to recognize the date change from 99 to 00 come the year 2000. Recently, both a software maker and medical equipment vendor have been hit with lawsuits for selling products that arent Year 2000-complia- Practically every company in business today is potentially suslitd ceptible to Year igation. Heres why: If your business has a computer system, you could be at risk of contracting the Millennium Bug. And if that Millennium Bug has a negative effect on your customers, you could run the risk of litigation.
