The emergency hospital which was opened at the new district school building only yesterday is already do big excellent work. The building is thoroughly modern, and expresses the last word in heating, ventilating, etc. The domestic science department is well equipped to take care of the needs as a kitchen, and the splendid response re-sponse of citizens to the call for beds, etc., has placed the institution in a position to take care of twelve pa-tiente pa-tiente at the start, anil this equipment will doubtless be extended as demands increase. East night there were six patients on the cots, all doing exeel- I lentlv mill none verv Herioilslv ill. Today the doctor stated that the remainder re-mainder if the accommodations would i be utilized. Mrs. Clayton, county home demon-j st tutor, is in charge of the hospital,! and is closely assisted by Miss Mat il da Peterson of the H. A. C. faculty. Miss Carrie Leigh has charge of the. kitchen, and some four young lady nurses divide their time betwen the j institution and private homes requir-lag requir-lag assistance as circumstances demand. de-mand. The emergency hospital is of inestimable ines-timable value in releiving congested conditions in many of the homes where accommodations and conditions are not favorable for the recovery of the patients, and also in removing patients I from families not wholly exposed and thus mlnimumizing the chances for the spread of the disease. Of course the patients are also in-eared in-eared medical attention once or twice a day, which is not always possible in these times, especially where they are widely scattered. The management reports that they are getting along nicely, plenty of ' provisions and a fair amount of bedding bed-ding nnd equipment, though they could find room for a few more beds and i may need them. Persons having supplies of this kind that can be spared should communicate com-municate with Alma Ksplin, county agent, or with the bishop of either ward. |
