The direct result of enforcement of daylight saving is to arouse the young children In the morning one hour earlier than at present. The lengthened day for them cornea In the fact that, because the; sun refuses to close the day ap hoar earlier, the child remains in play, and Instead of bed. time hour of say I. SO p. m., the child retires at f.SO p. m. The effect of this routine is that the child is deprived of one hour, at least, of recuperation, and the mother la the loser ,ot an hour of solid satisfaction and relief which every parent knows when the child la once in bed and asleep. Every parent of young children, I venture to say that this is cogent reason and one which is vital. Further, this reason is vital- to our community because many doctors have said they detect a marked decrease in nervousness in the younger children during the peat summer when daylight saving was by national decree.
