Show well known business man Is victim of in the death of G A franke which took place in this city on wed evening eureka loses a sub honorable and a most like able business man known to peo pie in all walks of life he will be missed and mourned those who will miss him in a business way can not help elp but think what a great loss his family has sustained what a calamity it Is to have him taken from them in thia this sudden and un expected manner but little more than a week previous to bis his death he was busy in ills his place of business working energetically as he always worked and enjoying the love and respect of his parents wife and a group of most worthy children to say nothing of other relatives relative and friends he went home feeling as well as usual but before morning a physician was called to attend him and found that he had developed pneumonia it was his third attack and while he ap feared to be holding his own against the disease he succumbed on wed G A franke was a man of generous impulses and hospitable ways one who could bear ad varsity bravely and enjoy prosperity quietly he has tilled filled the various relations of life as son husband father friend and tilled filled them well the deceased was nearing his birthday having been born at berlin germany in december 1872 when about 11 years of age his parents mr and mrs henry franke came to this country and settled in fil salt lake city where they lived tor for several years it was there that G A franke grew to manhood and mar ried mrs franke was formerly miss catherine deering A year after their marriage or 28 years ago mr and mr franke took up their residence in eureka and this place has been their home ever since that time they have the tol fol lowing children john franke dr fred franke walter franke miss kathleen franke and miss margue rite franke all were present in eu reka at the time of their fathers father 8 death with the exception of dr DT fred franke who Is en route to the south sea islands as a member of the carnegie scientific expedition G A franke frankes s parents who are pioneer residents of this district recently moved to salt lake after being resi rest dents of eureka tor for about 27 years on his arrival in eureka 28 years ago mr franke followed mining tor for a short time but soon engaged in business establishing a furniture store which be he was operating at the time of bis his death the funeral today a message was received from dr fred franke son of the deceased stating that thai trouble with their ship had necessitated their re turn to new york harbor tor for re pairs if it is possible for dr franke to come to utah the funeral which had previously been scheduled tor for saturday afternoon will likely be postponed the burial will take place at salt lake city |
