Show SLOAN" HEADS THE COMMERCIAL CLU1! C. C. Sloan was elected as president presi-dent of the Milford Commercial Club at a meeting held in the office of Jorgensen & Company last night. Mr Sloan has been acting as president of the club since the absence of Mr. Pearson, who has moved to Bishop. California. Other officers elected were: Ted Bird. Vice President. E. B. Jorgensen, Secretary ' C. T. Woodbury Treasurer. These officers with Messrs. Hurley. Carlton and Nebeker, will constitute the .board of directors. A report was heard concerning the "moving picture" of Milford. which was taken last Friday. Mr. Foot of Salt Lake came here en route to Cedar and Zion canyon, with a movie outfit, his object being to interest the people of the town in a film which he is getting out of Salt Lake and the Zion canyon for the purpose of advertising and making mak-ing a few dollars. He will make about 3000 feet of film showing the beauties of Zion and Salt Lake with points of interest between and the way to get there. Milford being the main railroad stop on the way and having ample hotel accommodations he had no trou'ilo in showing the people here that it would be to their advantage to be included in the picture, pic-ture, and money enough was raised in just a few minutes to "get in" on the proposition, and the picture was taken last Friday and Saturday. It is the intention to have the picture pic-ture here about the 15th at which time the Milford section will be shown at the local picture house, if arrangements can be made with the manager. Everyone will want to see themselves them-selves in the movies. The action of the committee in this matter was heartily endorsed as was the Thursday lunch plan which is outlined in another column. President Sloan will announce the chairman of the standing committee before the next meeting. |
