Show BOR the following obituary of P borreson aged moab citizen who died last week at hiawatha was published in fridays price sun peter borreson of moab died at the home of his daughter mrs 0 L christensen in hiawatha saturday morning at 9 clock of complications tor one of his age mr borreson was born n salt lake city august 3 1853 his parents migrated with the early immigrants to utah and soon after his birth they moved to mt pleasant where they ran a grist mill later on taking up land and a home at spring city he was married may 11 1871 to mary D kenney who had two children charles and emma charles kenney died at the age of 23 years and emma Is still living at hiawatha eleven children were bom to mr and mrs borreson all were at his bedside at his death excepting mrs lottie olsen who arrived sunday from nevada where she now resides hattie M king of hiawatha julia allred of moab lizzie anderson of Cast ledale ella larson of hiawatha lydia brown of presno calif mrs christine christensen of hiawatha edith wardell of sparks nev peter borreson of moab erwin L borreson of moab and eva wardell of sparks nev are the children who were at his bedside during his short illness also his widow mrs mary borreson of moab peter borreson was a blacksmith by trade and soon after his marriage came to emery county where he was elected sheriff and served two years he then moved to and worked for the utah fuel company for twelve years and at the same time served as justice of the peace of sunnyside Sunny side he has worked at various times at the camps of castle gate wattis sego and west hiawatha and finally moved to moab where he hid a farm during the last three months he has been employed at sego making switches and frogs for the tracks in the sago mines some of the hardest blacksmithing about ten days aeo he became sick the effects of which he failed to recover from during the blackhawk war he served ra guard over the town where he lived in sanpete county funeral services were held at castle dale tuesday at 11 clock after which the remains were taken to ferron for interment in the cemetery there wallace harmon prepared the body for burial and were in charge of the funeral |
