Show Clyde C. Barber Clyde Casper Barber, 93, of 1823 W. 2700 S., Syracuse, died Thursday, Thurs-day, Jan. 21, 1988 at his home of causes incident to age. He was born Jan. 7, 1895 in Kaysville, a son of James A. and Luella Casper Barber. He married Martha (Mattie) Walker, Aug. 23, 1916 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Dec. 26, 1954. He married Helen Swaner Wil-ley Wil-ley Nov. 3, 1955 in Elko, Nev. He had lived in Syracuse most of his life and attended Davis County schools. He was a member of the Syracuse Syra-cuse 2nd LDS Ward where he served as a High Priest and a home teacher for over 60 years. He had been a farmer most of his earlier life, and had worked for the Davis County Road Department and the Clearfield Naval Supply - Depot for several years. He served as president of the "Syracuse Lions Club for two years and was also a charter member. Surviving are his wife of Syracuse, Syra-cuse, three sons and two daughters, daugh-ters, J. Vaun Barber, Yuma, Ariz.; Rex C. Barber, Mrs. Dick (Shirley) Egan, both of Syracuse; Mrs. Henry Hen-ry (Irene) Holland, Rupert, Ida. and Dr. Darrell Willey, Mesilla, New Mexico; 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Leland (Norma) Patterson, West Point. He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and one grandson. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. Funeral services were held Jan. 25 with Bishop J. Kelly Hansen and Kathryn Thompson; "I'll Walk With God" by Dick Egan, Susan Asay, Debbie Cowdin and Kris Decker De-cker accompanied by Kelly Egan; speakers, William Child, Norman Hansen and John Flint; "Going Home" by Dick Egan accompanied accompa-nied by Kelly Egan; benediction, Pres. Sheldon Child; postlude, Barbara Wathen. Dedication of the grave was by Dr. Darrell S. Willey with interment inter-ment in the Syracuse Cemetery. Pallbearers were Guy Barber, Kim Barber, Brad Barber, Steven Child, Kelly Egan, Brent Egan, Don McBroom and Martin McBroom. |
