| Show West Bountiful studies UAMPS power proposal By MARY JOLLEY WEST BOUNTIFUL Representatives Repre-sentatives from UAMPS (Utah Municipal Associates of Power) recently re-cently met with Councilmen Lynn Kenison and Wendell Wild in a detailed de-tailed meeting to request UAMPS assistance on power acquisition for West Bountiful. They gave a formal presentation requesting Bountiful to allow West Bountiful the use of their point of delivery. UAMPS is still negotiating negotiat-ing with Idaho Power for supplemental sup-plemental power. UAMPS officials provided them with a schedule and checklist detailing de-tailing what the city needs to accomplish for West Bountiful to meet the 1989 deadline for receiving receiv-ing power. UAMPS will send a proposed contract to the city to provide an estimate on engineering costs. UAMPS is willing to do whatever whatev-er the city needs at no charge until a public hearing is held and detailed engineering work begins. Company Com-pany officials feel that it is in Boun- tiful's best interest as well as theirs to include West Bountiful. Bountiful Bounti-ful is now a member of UAMPS. Councilman Wild explained they must work fast to meet the October 1989 deadline. He will attempt to negotiate with Bountiful to provide specific information regarding the average cost for residential users under the new rate structure. A public hearing was held last night to discuss the proposal with West Bountiful residents. The council will use the citizens comments com-ments to plan their next action on the issue.
