Show UTAH NATIONAL PARKS ASSURED BIG PATRONAGE According to reports from E. T. Scoyen, superintendent of Zion and Bryce National parks, there are more tourists now signed up for visits to Zion the coming season than there were booked at the, time of the opening of the parks last spring. A two-thirds, increase of tourists during dur-ing 1929 over the number last year is fully expected by Mr. Scoyen. The number visiting Zion last year was 30,016. Preparations are being made to take care of 50,000 in 1929. Lee's Ferry bridge and the Zion-Mt. Zion-Mt. Carmel road will be opened, it is expected, and ready for use by the beginning of the tourist season. With these two great attractions, together with the $1,000,000 Union Pacific lodge at the North Rim of the Grand canyon, the number of visitors to the park section will be materially Increased. |
